This is a fraud - c'est une arnaque, à fuir!

Reviewed 30 may, 2022

The only positive point is a distance from the train station - the hotel is located not so far. It was also good to have a kettle in the room - the common kitchen is so dirty that you will not use it. I booked a triple room which was supposed to have a private kitchen, washing failities, an iron, a sitting area - as it is written in room description and confirmation of reservation. Instead I was accomodated in a double room with no facilities (even a hair dryer was missing!) and terrible sanitary condistions (dirty toilet, destructed walls with moisture). Actually, in our room there were only 2 beds, a small table with a broken TV on it, and a chair which we used to put our belongings on - no wardrobe or even shelves in the room. The hotel refused to give an invoice (pour mes compatriotes - pas de facture, pas de attestation de séjour!) The hotel staff doesn't reply emails, I was asked to call to somebody's husband to ask for an invoice. Franchement, c'est une grande arnaque.

Does the job, but let down by small details

I found this hotel last minute while booking a spontaneous solo trip to Liverpool. It is situated across the road from Kirkdale station, which is under 10 minutes to Liverpool Central with frequent and cheap trains.Once booking my stay, I was sent a flurry of long and confusing emails. It was very hard to decipher the important information like the door code and hotel phone number, as the chain of emails sent was enormous. I phone to flag my late check in time of 9pm. I called three times to no answer. Once I was called back, the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The hotel is cosy, clean and nicely decorated. In my whole stay, I didn’t see another person in the hotel. In some ways, this suited me well as I could do my own thing and check in was easy (a key was left in the lobby in a named envelope). That said, it would have been nice to have had someone to whom I could report issues with my room. My room was spacious, clean and comfortable. When I arrived, however, there was no toilet roll in my ensuite bathroom. I had to scour all the shared bathrooms on every floor to find some - not how I wanted to spend the first ten minutes of my stay at that time of night! My ensuite bathroom had no mirror, the blinds on the skylights were broken and the low beams near the plug sockets high on the wall were a hazard. When leaving my room, there was no handle on the door so I had to use my key to awkwardly shut the door. While I was pleased to see signs encouraging social distancing, masks and hand sanitising, the dispensers were all empty. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a short stay close to Liverpool. Just be prepared for a few things to not be quite up to standard!

A nice, clean, cheap hotel

Stayed here very recently. Very impressed. A nice, clean and well sized room with communal bathroom and shower. Great for sight seeing Liverpool and exploring the local pubs. Even has a pub downstairs! Only gripe i have is that they supplied sachets of coffee, sugar and milk but didnt supply a kettle.
