Amazing Hotel! Lovely staff.

Reviewed 28 november, 2022

We booked a stay for my birthday through Groupon. I sometimes worry that hotels might treat you differently when you get a deal through a voucher/ deal website - but this was definitely not the case! This is a fab hotel in a good location. We were able to leave our bags with them before check in so that we could explore a little without our luggage. To our suprise, when we did actually check in later that afternoon, we were upgraded to a suite! The staff member who did it was just lovely, super friendly and cheerful. The room was beautiful. The bed was the comfiest bed I've ever slept on. Breakfast was exactly what we needed to set us up for the day. Thank you! We will be back.

Visited with a friend for big birthday. Upgraded to a suite , fabulous, spacious, comfortable and warm everything you need. All staff polite, efficient, smartly dressed. Happy to chat and help when asked. Breakfast plentiful with lots of choice. Very good location as a minutes walk from Aldgate tube. Will rebook when visiting London again. Thankyou😊

Thankyou for such a lovely stay The reception staff are the loveliest. Got us into our room with our little boy early and are so friendly, nothing was too much trouble The room was great. Very comfy bed - lovely shower and a fair size which had been set up with a cot as pre-arranged They also left the room some birthday chocolates and some free drinks vouchers - so thoughtful

ok, comfy bed but room left a bad smell

Reviewed 14 november, 2022

stayed here Saturday night. Room is small but well appointed. Mrs wasn't keen that there wasn't a mirror at the desk, the mirror with a light as on the back of bathroom mirror and you had to stand to get ready. bed was comfy which was a good point. however, the sink in the bathroom took forever to drain away, which we didnt think was too much of an issue. however, from 4am onwards every 30/40 mins there would be this god awful noise of a drain coming from the toilet. even though the toilet had its own separate door the smell filled the room. no sewage come up but the smell from the toilet was disgusting. at that time of morning i didnt bother calling reception to change rooms as i knew the hotel was full as i asked for an upgrade on check in. overall a bang average stay, when we stay again we will pick another hotel nearby such as the dorsett.

Poor customer service after being over charged

Reviewed 14 november, 2022

We really enjoyed our stay at the Clayton hotel. It was a really nice hotel and in a perfect location. However, we were subsequently charged after checking out for a breakfast we never had. Despite contacting the hotel on several occasions including talking to their back office and being told it would be refunded. It never has been. This is really bad. If they say they are going to do something they should do it. I don’t understand why they didn’t raise the extra charge when we checked out. What is worse is despite encouraging feedback following a Google review that Sam would look into it, it all went silent after initial emails. Very poor customer service. We have had to raise a dispute through our credit card. Overall a bad experience which has tainted what was a really nice stay and one we would have happily gone back to.
