Disgusting apartment, dirty, smelly, and rude customer service
Reviewed 16 January, 2020
I wish we hadn’t booked this apartment for 2 nights for a family wedding. We left 2 hours after arriving. There was tampons on the floor, marks on walls which were ‘wet’ looking, kitchen filthy, stench coming from the cleaners cupboards. Tv didn’t work, bathroom was dirty, like scale everywhere. Dirt and tissues down side of beds. It was the worst place I’ve ever had the displeasure of being in. I called the customer service number and had someone shout at me and threaten me for calling them with a non emergency. I had my 2 young children with me and decided I couldn’t stay. We ended up paying £400 for a hotel as last minute, on top of the £400 we had paid for the apartment. We didn’t get our money back. Booking.com didn’t help at all. The company are cowboys (to be polite). Photos actually make it look better than it was. The noise and smell of smoke added to the ambiance.

IF this isn't the same outfit as "Excel Apartments", please disregard this review. (It is the same address: possibly, change of name due negative reviews?).
I don’t often do this sort of review.
The location is very good.
The booking process is a pain in the proverbial…., in that I had to send in photo ID in order to book; and then on the morning of check-in, I get a demand for a “security deposit” of £250: what if I had been out of touch (or had my phone turned off?)
Entry instructions arrived (along with the “Strict…no shoes on the carpet policy”) and entry was gained.
The room was clean, though small, cold (it was February) and had nowhere to put your luggage apart from on the limited floor-space or the seating.
Upon checking the shower room, only a third of a toilet roll was available, so I asked for “a spare.” Five minutes later I received a telephone call asking me to send a photograph of the toilet roll!
Other issues with Wi-Fi and heating. Service is, in my opinion, appalling.
We won’t be going back.

I booked this through a third-party site (Hotel Tonight) and was very glad I read the small print to get the entry code; I would have turned up and not been able to get in as there's no reception. The apartments are very central in the City of London, with lots of bars and restaurants nearby. That, however, makes the area very noisy indeed. The apartment was very hot, so the choice was no sleep because of the annoying fan, no sleep because of noise with the window open, or no sleep from overheating.
On top of that, the TV didn't work, and the wifi was sporadic. To finish it off, I found toenail clippings on the rug. Never again!
4hrs after check in was told apartment was not cleaned

Having reached London and gone around to shop, decided to get to the Apartment closer to 6pm. Check in starts at 2pm. I got a phone call to say that they have had a computer issue and they believe the room has not been made however I can go & check or take another apartment 20 minutes further away! Being 5 minutes away from the apartment I walked in and yes the room had not been made up. The images from the last reviewer were basically what we saw along with a lingering fish & chips smell from the previous people staying in there.
Firstly it took 4 hours for staff to notice that they had not had a cleaner sent to clean the place, and nobody to send over to see if it was clean but rather have the customer risk it and check for themselves or go to another location completely on a different tube line. Having absolutely no compensation for the companies own mess we decided to find another place to stay rather than risk what we might see walking into another one of their apartments. AVOID!
