We always enjoy our stays here,as it it is always consistently reliable. Well presented rooms and the proximity to DLR and the Jubilee line make it a great spot for us. The area around the hotel also has much to offer, with a plethora of restaurants and bars .
Don’t expect to much from this supposed 5 star hotel

Following our stay I would like to make it known that it wasn’t the best by any means.
We were very disappointed to learn that we we unable to get any food at 10.15pm, not even room service on a Thursday evening. This is not acceptable for a five star hotel! I was told food service stopped at 9pm.
Furthermore the bar was closed.
I just cannot understand why this is mentioned anywhere on your website, if I had known I would have stayed elsewhere.
I’d like to see you website updated stating this, so others are not left hungry.
We were not the only couple who were dismayed on the night.
The rooms were very clean and tidy although the air conditioning unit could not be left on as it was so noisy.
The area is sadly very quiet, as most of the office workers still have not returned to work. Hope this improves or the area will no doubt close down.
I’d like a reply please
Love This Hotel!

Stayed at this hotel for the second time a few weeks ago for a couple of nights. I had emailed the hotel prior to our stay to request a room away from the DLR line as we knew some rooms can have noise issues. We were lucky and were upgraded to a water view room on the 1st floor which was extremely quiet and spacious with a very comfortable bed and we slept very well - didn't hear any noise at all actually. Fabulous location right next to lots of bars/restaurants in restored buildings with lots of character. Great connections from Canary Wharf to central London. Definitely recommend for a change from staying in central London.
Nice hotel but we won't be returning.

We stayed here for 3 nights and we were offered an upgrade to a suite for this stay due to some issues during our last stay. The suite was lovely, everything was clean and the hotel staff were all very pleasant apart from the man who was seating us for breakfast on our first morning. He asked for our room number, told us that it didn't say breakfast was included on the checklist he was holding (even though our complimentary upgrade included this) and then had to go to reception to check that we could have breakfast. Then when we asked about ordering from the menu he said "it's a buffet" even though we were given the executive level. The lady who seated us the next day was a lot more pleasant and gave us the menus when we asked about this. We usually stayed in executive rooms at this hotel which meant we could order from the menu at breakfast as well as having the buffet options. However, it now seems some things have been taken off of the menu since our last visit and the breakfast now offered didn't seem any different to what we could get at much cheaper hotels. There is only one hot drinks machine and there seemed to always be a queue for it in the breakfast room, it would be much better if they had two on different sides of the restaurant as the queue and then waiting for staff to change the coffee/milk/chocolate that had run out in the machine was a bit of a pain as our breakfast was then going cold. The executive lounge is currently downstairs in the bar rather than in a separate room, it was good for getting drinks to take out with us or up to the room. We didn't have any of the snacks/desserts as we were never in the hotel at the time they were on offer so can't comment on those. The lifts had markings on the floor that said two people/one family at a time but as these signs were on the floor most other guests didn't pay attention to them, there should be clearer signs around the lifts for this as we had 3 other people get in a lift with us with their bikes at one point so we couldn't even stand apart from them. Overall the hotel is nice but I wouldn't say it is anything above average anymore. The executive perks are definitely not worth the increased price you would pay for them unless you plan on staying in the hotel all evening for the snacks/desserts and alcoholic drinks but we didn't do that so I can't comment on that. Unfortunately we won't be staying here again as we will be able to find a hotel in a more central location that offers the same level of service for a similar price now whereas before the Marriott always came out on top.
Quiet location easy to get around to places using the DLR and Clipper

This was our second stay at this hotel, the last was in July and a different experience the second stay. This stay we were told on check in that housekeeping only took place every 3 days, not sure why but I’m guessing lack of staff like a lot of the service industry atm. The corridors to the rooms needed vacuuming badly when we arrived and still hadn’t been cleaned when we left. The room was clean and the beds are very comfortable. The rooms are a little dingy with inadequate lighting and the bathroom needs updating. The tv constantly switched itself off after a few minutes. We reported this to reception, nobody came to fix it. We reported it again to reception and were told that an engineer would be sent to fix it immediately, but again nobody came. Breakfast is what you would expect to find but nothing out of the ordinary. Staff were polite and friendly mostly. The bar is comfortable with good lighting and pleasant staff and has the makings of a great cocktail bar but has several TVs showing sports which totally kills the vibe and there was really terrible loud music playing. We had one drink and found a great bar a few metres away from the hotel instead. We would stay again because of location, but that’s the only reason.
