I can't say enough about my stay at the Hotel Wilshire, I loved everything about my stay, it’s really one of the best stays in LA, but the top of the line customer service provided by Evan the manager made my stay even more remarkable. Evan made sure my stay was great from the moment I made the reservation to the moment I checked out, the hotel staff and Jennifer Ochoa also provided and has provided during my previous stays such a great friendly and kind service making me truly feel welcome! I appreciate the fact that the service was only a text away if I needed anything and the hotel staff and Evan were quick to reply to my inquiries including sending me their menu and breakfast options which came in a nice sealed box every morning with a drink and a yogurt parfait. This brings me to the food and quality they serve at the hotel, their Ron pope french toast is the best french toast I have had in LA! It is incredible as everything else on the menu I have tried at their restaurant “Pop.” I would highly recommend this hotel, the rooms were so clean, modern, beautiful, and spacious. Most definitely a top rate hotel! I love the fact that pets are also welcomed. I have stayed at The Hotel Wilshire a couple of times already, this last time I stayed for 5 nights and 6 days, and will be back every time I visit Los Angeles.
Charge for wi fi
Ok, so I know ya don't go to LA to spend time in your room on wi fi, but seriously $12 a day??. It wasn't a deal breaker but on top of the expense of parking a car overnight. Nevertheless, the staff were nice, hotel was ok although the much flaunted rooftop pool was closed down by the authorities (apparantly for selling drink to the under aged). Rooms were good...a mixed review but the location in Hollywood suited us fine.
I was here for 2 nights and I'll surely come back if the price doesn't get higher. More than amazing hotel, lobby, rooms very modern, clean and they paid attention to every little detail. I had a room with a terrace to relax, the bathroom fresh modern, the view from the Rooftop is stunning. The pool a little bit small so it's more to chill than swim. Near to everything you need.
Awesome Boutique Hotel
What a gem, the location is sensational! The staff were so lovely and helpful, that really means a lot to us. The rooms are excellent, the hotel restaurant delicious. We love the views from the rooftop as well. We will definitely be back.
Snagged a Discount Rate
I travel a metric boat load all over and use IHG exclusively. I was introduced to the Kimpton brand during the acquisition some years back. I’ve been an avid fan ever since. Any chance I get to stay at a Kimpton property is seized upon with enthusiasm. This property is compact. It does try very hard to fulfill the broad Kimpton palette. Staff were always polite and efficient. The social password netted me a nice goody bag. Thanks for that! The Spire level got me the Santa Monica suite at a regular room rate. The lobby is small. The two elevators are likewise small. I’m a stout fellow of six foot and 250 pounds and broad shoulders. I had to enter sideways to ride those cars. The second floor breakfast area is small — but the spread that is put out is rather decent for the fourteen dollars they charged. The social password got me a comp’d breakfast. The suite was nice and payed out well. The absence of an ice machine is a little odd. Bagged ice does feel somewhat downmarket. I’m sure it’s not the first time you’ve heard that comment. Decor is well kept-up and the carpets on my floor must have been freshly vacuumed, because there was the most lovely lavender scent wafting through those halls. The shower was huge. Space for a quartet to sing in. The toiletries are always a nice collection. The bed was a delight - soft and cushy. Slept well. The location was good for a morning run too. The LaBrea Tar Pita are just four blocks away. Should let you know that the area does have a lot of homeless around. Nobody too obnoxious bothered me on my wanderings. Valet is quick and efficient. If business brought me back to this side of LA — the Wilshire would make the short list despite the small footprint.
