Hey very lovely hotel. Very much looking forward to visiting Manchester for a week. Unfortunately they managed to steal our almost 1800 pounds. Although they had a full refund policy… We never got any money back of our $3000 Canadian. I am in poorly condition… Cannot easily travel especially internationally and they produced a story saying they were a small hotel that could possibly afford a refund. A credit… Yes but not a refund. The credit is very different if you live within a few hundred kilometres I can easily take a train to a range from another international transatlantic country when I am now blind I legally have kidney failure. Best Birthday Retreat Manchester’s Hidden Gem!

We visited the Cow hollow hotel on Friday 23rd July For mine & my partners birthday we wasn’t aware of the free nibbles & prosecco on arrival (this is between 5-7pm only) however we was greeted by the loveliest receptionist who was kind enough to extend this for us and bring this to the room, we thought this was a nice touch because the majority of hotels you would have to pay for this as an extra. We was very impressed with how beautifully decorated the hotel interior was , it was very quirky & original and we got a very good vibe from all the staff. The room did not disappoint It’s quite small however for 1 night it was perfect, not much of a view but not bothered.
Very central location , great to walk into town.
We had cocktails brought to the room late on with the free cookies which is given on a nighttime, which was room service which again you didn’t have to pay any extra for , apart from ofcourse the drinks but they are reasonably priced anyway, I highly recommend the chocolate orange night cap, they even had Netflix which was great for just chilling after we’d been out for dinner.
The next day we had breakfast brought to our room which was a really nice touch because again we didn’t have to pay extra for this, this included a hot drink & a breakfast bag.
Overall this hotel is a hidden gem and more people need to visit here , I would say it’s one of the best hotels in the U.K. we’ve stayed especially for the service aspect, It makes a change from going to a bigger hotel and goes to show that smaller hotels really do care & go the extra mile for their customers and for that we really enjoyed our stay. Will defiantly be coming back again! Thankyou :)
No udder place will do!

Groovy place in a really convenient location. Amiable and professional staff and a welcoming vibe first greet you, and the rooms are striking, clean and comfortable.
The whole area is desirable - surrounded by great places to eat and drink - and Cow Hollow sits snugly
within that ambience.
Posh but pokey - won’t be returning

We stayed for 2 nights as we come to Manchester usually once a month to visit my partners family and friends, as he is from Manchester. We always like to treat ourselves and try new accommodation and The Cow Hollow was recommended to us as being quirky & interesting.
The positive points:
The hotel is very central, plenty of car parks available near by at usual city centre prices.
The staff were very lovely and attentive and very welcoming.
The cocktail bar you have to check in at is very attractive and the decor throughout is very tasteful.
The hotel has thought a lot about little attentions to detail, such as sweets on arrival, hair dryer, straightener and curling wand in the bathroom, ear plugs etc! The continental breakfast is fab, cute and tasty and delivered at a time that suits.
Very comfy bed and pillows.
However the negative points for us and why we wouldn’t stay again, especially for the high price you pay for the room:
We had room 15, the room is very dark, especially as often you have to have the blinds and wooden shutters closed due to being overlooked by flats across the road. Constantly with strangers with their heads out the windows smoking looking directly into your room.
The size of the room especially for over £400 is absolutely tiny and I’m quite a small person! No room for your luggage which you have to leave next to your bed, so your constantly standing on your case when you get off the bed! Unless you leave it behind the front door, which is a fire hazard as you can’t open the door, or leave it in front of the bathroom, again obstructing access! There is no chair or desk, the room consists of a bed, two sides tables with over sized lamps on, so you can’t even use the side tables! One small shelf to hold the water and glasses! So when you breakfast is delivered you have to stumble over your case to retrieve it and then climb back to your bed to eat it on the bed.
The room was so hot we had to use cold wet flannels during the night to keep us cool! No fans provided. Lovely windows you can open, but again the overlooking neighbours can see straight into your room. Including the bathroom, so to maintain your modesty and ensure privacy you have to use the bathroom with the shutters closed and with one lamp is increasingly dark.
Again ear plugs are provided, but the noise from outside with the window open or closed is so loud and disruptive! Shouting from the public outside over two nights went on past 4am, the most quiet time is from about 7am.
So for the high price for a room that is not big enough for two adults, incredibly hot and very dark, it’s almost depressing and the persistent noise from outside at unsociable hours, sadly we won’t be returning or recommending . We have experienced much better elsewhere in Manchester and for a much more reasonable cost in the city centre!
Amazing stay, the location, facilities and staff made it 5*

After searching for a smaller hotel in manchester (we personally prefer smaller independents to corporate style) came across this one... yes, the hotel is a little harder to find (walked past twice) but location perfect and a carpark nearby so all good.
Arrived a little dishevelled after the car journey but my wife and I were welcomed by the receptionist who made checking in easy and informed about complementary breakfast, Prosecco & nibbles... etc (and then apologised she could not show us to the room as normal and directed us - covid etc) but so not an issue.
Got to the room.. Wow... OK, not much of a view (but city hotels generally don't) what made up for it is the character of the room. I booked a deluxe and loved the original touches, the lift mechanism is still there and they managed somehow to fit a bathroom (yes small) in the old lift shaft.
We went to the bar before leaving to meet friends for dinner and took part in the complementary Prosecco and nibbles (the wife loves a freebie) ...staff were friendly and whilst chatting with them came across as interested (also a good couple of recommendations for drinks after dinner) but not overkill...
Arrived back late, decided to have a night cap before bed... great negroni !
I am more than happy to recommend this hotel... it is a great find.. my go to manchester stay!
