Great Stopover in Duck Key

Reviewed 21 november, 2022

This condominium was an excellent accommodation for three travelers. Reservations staff were very accommodating. It was very clean and provided great water views from back patio. Will stay there again.

Great for a family!

Loved the property and my kids loved the pool! I also loved how quiet it was in the evenings, and having the resort nearby was an added bonus. We were fortunate that they let us use the kids lagoon/pool area. I'd highly recommend this property!

Stunning Resort - Sparkling Clean Villa

Reviewed 19 july, 2022

We stayed in the 7000's of Hawks Cay last month. The villa was beautiful - clearly recently upgraded in the Kitchen and furniture. Walls were spotless. The sofa looked brand new, and the kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. Can't wait to get back!

Never stay at the Hawks Cay Villas! They are completely GROSS! I wanted to leave the minute I stepped foot In this place. Not very clean. Not kept up AT All!!!!! I hated every minute of my stay here. Sheets Were stained, master bedroom ceiling fan didn’t work. Things needed to be fixed. They obviously have no up keep! I wanted to leave immediately. Very unhappy with spending a good amount of money on this. Just awful!!l!!!!!if I could have gotten out Money back I would have gone to another resort. I am Not sure if the regular rooms Are this gross , but I have no desire to go back EVER!!!!!

Beautiful Resort / Villa not so much! Long Review!

Reviewed 13 september, 2021

I’ll start off with the pros. The staff we’ve encountered at the main pool have been wonderful! Always pleasant and happy to serve! Our kids have LOVED their time in the pool! They have also spent a lot of time at the lagoon & paddleboarding! I will give you a tip - buy the shaker! Refills are $5 cheaper & we found out this tidbit 3 days into our trip! So, buy the shaker! Save your wallet! The Angler & Ale was a great restaurant to visit with our family! We enjoyed our meals & the atmosphere! Our server was also super friendly! We absolutely LOVED our dolphin encounter! Not only are these animals loved & cared for, but they are beautiful and amazing to watch! We truly enjoyed every single moment we had there! If you can add this to your visit, it’s a MUST DO! Sole Watersports was ALSO another great time! We did a private 1/2 day excursion and were chauffeured by Captain Joe! We snorkeled and had a few beverages on the sandbar! It was a beautiful way to spend our early afternoon! The fitness center is fully-equipped with all you need to get a good workout in while on vacation! I was pleasantly surprised with all the equipment this resort had. The kids play area is awesome for the littles! My daughter loved having the place to herself, meeting the pirate & mermaid…& even seeing some very large iguanas walking around!! Now.. the CONs. So, we rented a 3 bdrm villa for a week; the villa was not as clean or up to date as the photos are portrayed on the website which was really disappointing, especially for what we paid for a nightly rate! The kitchen was not stocked with much of anything for families that are staying longer than a few days; we had to purchase an OVEN MITT! This wasn’t provided for us to be able to utilize the oven! Who allows guests to have a full kitchen but no oven mitts for the oven? LOL. The blender wasn’t working and we were given a “loaner” microwave. This was the main reason we chose a villa over the hotel rooms as we were staying an extended time & ended up needing to purchase items that should have been provided with the villa. We called for room service to swap out our bedding & linens and were told we needed to give a “24 hour notice” and they’d come within that timeframe - well, we requested, and never received. The atmosphere at the villas also wasn’t what we were expecting. We had smokers in our area; random people parking and walking through the back area to fish, and other families utilizing the area behind our villa to sit on rocks by water. It didn’t feel “private” at all. Also, villas are very close to bridge & if you’re a light sleeper the traffic/lights may cause difficulty for sleeping! Photos also portrayed the use of lounge chairs on balconies & our villa did not have that option. We were also under the impression that the “beach” area outside our villa would be usable, and it is NOT! Sand fleas and unable to use the water by villa as it is not safe due to boats that are in area! We also seemed to have a whirlwind of home problems we had to call for! I will add, they were quick to respond and help! Toliet clogged, smoke alarms needing battery replacement (loud chirping got annoying really quick!); the plugs in one of the bathrooms consistently shorted out.. The villas absolutely need some updating (at least the one we stayed in!). I also recommended providing guests with simple amenities for a “home” such as an oven mitt, broom/vacuum, and working appliances. I also recommend providing housekeeping in the time promised. Would I stay at Hawks Cay again? Im not sure. Overall the resort was beautiful, but the villas really fell short. I would not pay the $$ to stay in the villas as they do not provide what is promised & dont feel like a $700 a night stay.
