Family owned, great location and QUIET!
Opinión escrita el 17 de Julio de 2021
This place has been family owned since 1967. They still have actual keys for the doors instead of key cards. I wanted to experience that "motor inn" feel and I found it in this Inn. There are two entrances so your room door doesn't open to the outside. There is an inside, heated pool and they offer a continental breakfast.
Our room was a king. The bed was comfortable but the pillows are a little flat. There were two recliners in the room, a fridge, and a microwave. COVID restrictions are still in place, so there was no coffee pot in the room but you could get a cup at the breakfast or at the front desk. The room and bathroom were clean and I loved the shower.
The Inn is right on the main highway of Marquette but it was quiet and peaceful in our room.
I enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others to give it a try. You can find a good stay in other places other than just chain hotels.

We loved the location of the Cedar Motor Inn! The price was great too! Front desk extremely friendly and helpful. Loved our room's (115) size, location, windows, desk, table, fridge, tv and microwave. When we had first walked into this motel room, a musty type odor was present and a/c was on. Opened the windows (nice, heavenly breeze!) and turned off a/c and later when we returned it was better. View of trees above bed, from side window & bathroom very appreciated. Bed was made, but "lumpy" looking, like it was made hastily. That was fine, but bedspread with a few stains made it feel less clean (it needs replacing, has one stain that looks like a big drop of bleach, white with pink on a navy bedspread), and the bathroom, although clean, was tired, with tub peeling and worn tile. Kleenex holder empty. Breakfast was continental (coffee, juice, muffins, banana, orange, granola bar-packaged items). Bed very comfortable, and pillows great! Overall the price was right, quiet for sleeping although motel full, and if greater attention to detail had been made, I could then have recommended this motel even more.
Older, inexpensive motel

We were fortunate to get a room in the newer wing of the motel. Still, it had the look of a vintage motel from the 70s. The room was spacious and clean though. My only complaint was the toilet seat looked old and discolored, a turn off that could be fixed for 10 or 15 dollars. Still, I think for the price we paid it was a good deal. We can't speak for the other older parts of the motel.
NO HANDICAPPED ACCOMMODATIONS

Unfortunately while making a week's worth of reservations, I failed to ask for a handicapped room. Would have found out they have NONE. All I really needed was a higher toilet and a grab bar following recent hip surgery. Made a reservation for 3 nights. The first night were were in a extremely small quaint room. In order to move, one of us had to back up to let the other pass (we are not large people.) The bathroom was so small that in order to get to the toilet, you needed to step sideways and than turn to back unto the low toilet. No grab bars, but was able to grab the small vanity to get up.
The next day we requested a larger room which was 3 times as large. Also had a microwave, as well as a refrigerator which was also in the tiny room. There were no recliners or 2nd vanity as some reviews mentioned although the larger room would have accommodated them. The bathroom size was standard. Again low toilet and no grab bars. The air was running in the room when we moved our luggage in. The room was very cold. In order to adjust the air, my 6' husband had to stand on a chair.
When we checked out, I asked the clerk if she was interested in a critique. She seemed to be agreeable. I started with the room/exterior keys. Remember we had 2 different sets. They stuck in all the doors and we need two hands to unlock and open the doors which also stuck. I suggested they might consider giving printed information about towels and trash at Check-in since many people have been traveling and are tired at check-in. There was a guy getting towels the second night we were there when I was waiting in line for clean towels. He apparently hadn't noticed the sign about towels and trash (covid precautions). He was angry his room hadn't been cleaned, etc. Once he understood, he was ok. I asked the clerk why they would put people staying for 3 nights in a small room? She indicated that was the standard room that came up and implied you get what you get. Why a family owned business wouldn't go the extra step to consider 2 people staying in a tiny room for 3 days would not be happy?. They had vacancies all 3 nights we were there as did most of the hotels on that strip of the highway. If we were only staying for one night, I would not be writing this review.
The pool, hot tub and sauna were nice, so depending on your priorities this may work for you. Just request a large room.

Stayed here just to get a pool/tub while on business. They accommodated us for a very early check in. Hit tub was perfect, rooms are older but quiet and clean. Didn't stay for the breakfast . We will be back again
