Lovely food, lovely environment and fantastic staff

We had the most comfortable stay. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were particularly attentive. The concierge Jarome really went to all length to forfilll our requests. We will definitely stay here again.

One of the best ..

Chose this hotel as it was so close to the theatres but it has so much more going for it than just the location. It has a very luxurious feel about it and the staff are so friendly and cheerful. The restaurant was amazing - can't praise the chef or the relaxed, helpful staff enough. They were perfectly attentive and my gluten free diet was not an issue at all. The pool on the rooftop is gorgeous and the views incredible. Our room was a good size, very comfortable bed and furnishings, and plenty of toiletries. The staff demonstrate excellence in caring for their guests.

Convenient location for "Hamilton"

Reviewed 26 october, 2022

The hotel is located just around the corner from Her Majesty's Theatre, which was showing "Hamilton". I'd travelled to Melbourne specifically to watch the show (it was fantastic!). I arrived early but they were happy to store my luggage. There are heaps of cafes and coffee shops around the hotel. My room was spacious and clean (ditto the ensuite). There was a juliet balcony and windows that opened to let in fresh air (wonderful!) and also natural light. A/c, tv and free wifi worked well. I did not have breakfast in the hotel, just because there is so much choice available in Melbourne. I found the location excellent, particularly its close proximity to theatres. I enjoyed my stay and look forward to staying at the hotel in future visits.

Great Location

Reviewed 9 october, 2022

We loved the proximity of this hotel to most of the city sights. We walked everywhere from this hotel. The room was good, it was neat and tidy, great for the price we paid. The bed was comfortable, which was needed after a long day of walking to the sights. The bed was made everyday by housekeeping, and new towels were given. The rooftop pool was great, although the day we went up there, it was windy. We would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in Melbourne

Not very Grand and they give your car away to anyone.

I travelled to Melbourne for a week stay with my family. We all booked together however in separate rooms. I was the only solo traveller in the group and therefore had my own room. I paid the most amount out of the group and was given the dirtiest, darkest and smallest room out of the group. My brother and his partner paid a fraction of what I paid and were upgraded on check in to a room much larger than they paid for. My external balcony was accessible by anyone staying on that floor and there were often men walking around the external balcony making me feel unsafe. I approached reception and asked about changing rooms for safety purposes where the manager on duty laughed in my face and told me it was not his problem nor concern and does not matter how much money I paid, I would be staying where I was. When I tried to talk to him further he was incredibly condescending and rude to the point where my parents stepped in due to how condescending he was towards me. It wasn't until the parking garage that is attached to the hotel and that the hotel uses for their consumers who have cars gave away our car to another hotel patron and then laughed in our face how it was a funny joke. When we asked what they were doing to get our car back to us safely that they said nothing. We explained that it was a rental car and we needed it and we threatened to report it stolen that they attempted to locate the car. The car was given back to us over an hour later and they asked us not to complain as they did not want to be in trouble. As a sorry I was finally moved rooms into a nicer and much safer room. They also offered us complimentary room service to make our bed everyday however I declined this as I stated that at every other 4 star hotel I have stayed at this is just standard service and should not be used as an apology. The cleaning staff also removed my swipe card I left in my hotel room, then left another random swipe card in my room another day later. They ignored do not disturb signs and entered the room regardless and moved my belongings around. The shower drain would also back up when showering so I was standing in a few inches of water every time I showered and would take over 10 minutes to drain completely. The only nice staff member that we encountered was the night duty manager who was on when we checked out at 4am. She was so apologetic towards us about our stay and was super lovely and helpful with organising a taxi for myself and my brother and his partner due to us having more luggage than could fit in my parents rental car. I would never stay here again. The location was brilliant but there are other hotels surrounding the vicinity that we will book over here again.
