Do not stay here, book maritim Antoine spa instead

I read the reviews before going but generally find them to be unfair. This however was not, please listen to the reviews. When leaving this hotel was classed as a 4 star hotel, IT IS NOT! It is barely a 3 star hence my 2 star rating. On arrival the hotel reception looks luxurious and welcoming, this is until you speak to the staff. They cannot be bothered with anything, they are not helpful in the slightest, infact they go out of the way to be unhelpful as possible. The corridors are dated and stained with water damage. The rooms are clean and tidy, but be careful of the cleaners as they smash and break quite a few things, again reception just nod their heads and fob you off. The view is amazing I will give them that. Breakfast is horrendous, longs queues, no one at all
Smiles or says hello, the staff look unhappy. No one talks to you at all. The breakfast was cold fried eggs and not much else. Trying to get your bread toasted is a while different story lol. The safe in the room didn’t work at all, again reception gave no s&(ts. We arrived at 10.30 was told the bar was open til 11, so quickly dropped bags to room and came down to find they had closed it. We have to order out for food as there is absolutely nothing in the area, when I say nothing I mean NOTHING. It’s is approx 12 euros to get to the nearest bar/shop but you need to have a car as you would be isolated here. The water in hotel is 4 euros and soft drinks 2.50 euros, the proper rob you.
The best advice I could give is DO NOT STAY HERE, stay at the maritim Antoine spa in mellieh, we popped there a few times and it was the complete opposite to where we stayed. They was friendly, welcoming and couldn’t do enough. I think maybe paradise bay needs to take some training from them

Although was isolated slightly. Hotel is very nice. Staff very good and food amazing.
Beach close by and bus route to main cities is very easy for guests.
Gracias for a very enjoyable and fun stay at paradise hotel:)
DO NOT stay at this hotel

Terrible experience - hotel reception is modern but remainder is dated. Breakfast had huge queues just for a drink - also no tables available, quality very poor - bacon fatty, hard and had bones in it. Room was big but dated and bathroom shower was too short to stand under. Poolside loungers hard to find but if get one they’re uncomfortable/broken. On-site shop prices are a rip -off. Hotel said they have on site parking but all taken constantly - had to drive off-road up hill to park on patch of wasteland. We originally planned to return to hotel after trip to Gozo, but we cancelled - anywhere else would be better!
Definitely NOT 4 stars

We had high expectations for this hotel with it being rated 4 stars. From the moment we arrived we ended up disappointed and underwhelmed. We got to the hotel after a long journey at 12pm (3 hours earlier than check in time at 3pm) and were advised that our room would be ready in an hour. We returned two hours later to be told abruptly that it wasn’t ready and to wait until 3pm, we didn’t end up in the room until nearly 4pm - an hour after our official check in time! We couldn’t use any of the lifts up to our floor as they didn’t work and our key card stopped working at least once a day but any time we mentioned this to the staff they said it was our fault as we must be keeping the card close to a mobile phone. Our room was cramped, unclean and old fashioned. We paid for a sea view balcony but we had no view of the sea what so ever. The bed was rock solid and the pillows lumpy, with the pillow cases being 3x too big. Our room was ‘serviced’ when we were out for the day, they took our towels but didn’t replace them so we were only left with a bath mat after a shower and the floor was so dirty we couldn’t be bare foot in the room. The food at the hotel was utterly horrendous. We had a breakfast and the quality was terrible. The bacon was full of bones, the eggs were not cooked properly and the sausage was lumpy? Just an overall poor experience and how this is a 4 star hotel is utterly beyond me, it should be a 2 star at a push.

This hotel don’t deserve even one star, awful breakfast, very uncomfortable bed, cards to enter the room never works, we were out the all day tired and the door didn’t work, when you ask for help at the reception they just don’t care, left us waiting for more than a hour. Also be in mind, the lifts doesn’t work without the cards too, the guy just said to me: if your card is not working go up by stairs! That’s unacceptable.
