Everything was fine. It's the closest hotel to the Gateway Airport. Ideal for an early flight. Very clean. Modern and cheerful decor. Employees were friendly. Only problem was that due to a wind storm, the pool was closed because it was full of dirt. Sad because it was so dang hot.
They won’t give me my money back

We booked to stay there on there on the 24th of this month but a few days later had to cancel when My dad went into hospital with Covid . The confirmation email and and the cancellation email both state I have up to 24 hours prior to stay to cancel and get my prepaid money back but so far I can’t get them to reverse the charge on my credit card . I have called three times and tried to get in contact with this hotel manager but she didn’t return my call . I was assigned a case # 250846285 and my cancelation number is 67991813 .
I just dont think I can trust Marriott anymore although I have over the years been a very loyal customer they just don’t care . They are loosing many people due to there politics ( which I could care less who the donate money to ) so you’d think they would try harder to please those who have been loyal .
No airport shuttle!

I have stayed at this hotel a dozen or so times over the years. I don’t know if the manager has changed or what, but it should not be advertised as a Marriott. The hotel is not as advertised. Came down to AZ to deal with a family tragedy. Stayed at a Marriott property the entire week. Been an elite member for 24 years. The hotel advertises its complimentary airport shuttle service all over the website and on the Bonvoy app. On a Sunday afternoon, I had to return my rental car because my flight took off early the next morning. When I left the hotel, I asked if the shuttle could come picked me up. The front desk staff said, “yeah, but our shuttle driver doesn’t get here til 3.” After I dropped off my rental, tried every ride share and cab company, and no one would pick me up. I waited at the airport til 3 and called the hotel telling them I needed a shuttle pick up. The front desk clerk told me shuttles were for “landmark members only.” What? I’ve never even heard of that.
I walked a block or two in the 110 degree heat, (did I mention I had my bags and was in dress clothes?) and then I called back and basically begged them to come get me. I was told, “oh well, we’d have to call a manager to get approval and we don’t know where she is.” Furious, I hung up and walked 1.9 miles to the hotel, bags in tow.
When I got to the hotel, the shuttle driver was sitting in the shuttle BS’ing with another employee. When I walked in and asked to speak to a manager, I was told there was no manager.
I then showed them the website stating the complimentary shuttle and telling them I’d used it many times before. The front desk clerk said the website was wrong and they just “hadn’t changed it yet.” Worse yet, I was told I would have to walk back the next morning at 4 am.
This experience has soured me on Marriott forever. They don’t care anymore about their brand. They’ll hand out a Marriott logo to any building with four walls and a parking lot.
This hotel does not care about its guests and clearly does not train its employees to Marriott standards. Why would you be an airport service hotel and not have a shuttle? Worse yet, why lie about it?
Easy stop from airport, higher price point

Easy stop from the Mesa Gateway airport, very clean and nice hotel, immaculate rooms, nice staff, but does have a higher price point than most similar type hotels, assuming cost due to location. Does have an airport shuttle, no continental breakfast, does have a paid breakfast and meals.

Awesome staff (Alysa, KaNeshia, Christina, Sammy) all a blessing. Definitely feel like family more than a guest. SO helpful. Wonderful Pool and Hot Tub, Firepit, Lounge area with computer station and TV. Also a Bistro and Starbucks and airport shuttle. We loved it. Great beds, quiet top level, spacious rooms, soaps in the shower, etc. Already planning to return.
