The lobby and hallways are run down. Not art deco charming, but in desperate need of care. Looks like a cross between a flop house and steerage accommodations on the Titanic.
We had to ask for a new room immediately because the one we were put in was tiny and dark and directly across from the loudest mechanical room I've ever heard.
The next room had its own noises- a loud vent and a buzzing mini fridge. We were also freezing- there are no controls for the AC.
The sheets on the bed were thin and pilled and needed to go in the garbage. For the freezing cold conditions, the front desk gave us a nasty emergency shelter style blanket, balled up, for us to carry upstairs.
The wifi (charged as part of the absurd "resort fee") was nonexistent. Didn't work for even a moment.
The overpriced valet parking took forever.
Two of three front desk people we encountered over two days were grumpy.
The ONLY redeeming thing about this hotel is its location, right in the action and across from the beach, but there are many, many other options right there, so it isn't even a selling point.
We were in such a hurry to leave, we left our laptop on the bed. After two days of phone tag regarding this, we were told that everyone there is honest and I should file "as many police reports as I want." So, I guess my review will end by saying they clearly have an alien/ghost thief problem as well.
Biggest $250/night RIPOFF I've ever encountered.

Cute little hotel Across from South Beach

I was staying at Hollywood Florida and wanted to do a day trip to South Beach. I needed an inexpensive hotel that was right off the beach, clean and safe. This hotel is very cute and has old Florida/South Beach charm. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The little restaurant outside is very convenient and inexpensive. The only issue I had was with the shower. There was no pressure and had to basically rinse off Before I returned back to Hollywood Florida. That’s understandable for such an old hotel. Also... the elevator has one of those old fashioned gates which is cute but I’d rather take the stairs because it didn’t look very reliable. The hotel was small so it really didn’t matter. The staircase is really pretty… Like a work of art. Mosaic tiles
Not Too Shabby But Smells Like Crabby

Great staff who were absolutely helpful and willing to bend over backwards to help or offer guidance. Lobby is cute but unfortunately, because of the seafood restaurant in the hotel’s retail space, the lobby can smell like rotten seafood. Definitely needs some work/repairs but all in all a great deal on the strip :)
Pictures were misleading. Glad it was only one night

This was not what I was expecting when I arrived. The address is correct, but when my uber dropped me off I wandered down the street very confused about where the hotel was. There was no sign, name, or markings of any sort to signify where the hotel was, or what door to use. I finally asked a valet for a restaurant on that same street and he pointed me in the right direction. The hotel seems to be undergoing renovations. The room was nice, and clean, and included a mini fridge which was nice. However, there was no thermostat in the room to control the temperature. Our room was HOT! And it was in the low 70s that day. Also, this did not affect me but food for though...you are right on Ocean Dr and the windows don't keep much noise out. I was able to hear entire conversations word for word from people who were outside on the sidewalks. If this will bother you, this is not the place for you. We got a great deal on the room for the night, but I wouldn't consider staying here again.

Service awful since the check in, when we had to pay 85 dollars - we were told it's compulsory - for internet which according to our booking with Expedia would be free. The person at check in was totally indifferent, she just told us to call Expedia and complain. The decor of the lobby was old and very very run down. The room was large but basic and the promised complementary water was not there. Awful experience
