DEFINITELY Less Than 3 Stars! (Experience Based on Stay During the June of COVID Recovery Year (2021)
Reviewed 27 June, 2021
This hotel was just about right for a 2-2.5 STAR HOTEL. Those who say it is better either had different amenities or services than I did. (The rooms themselves have not changed.)
The hotel clerks we encountered (one at 1:00 AM arrival, the other at 9:00 AM departure) were friendly and never idlng. Likewise, staff at other food and gas places in the area seemed friendly and attentive. This is definitely a good thing. Without it, a 2-star hotel like this would start to annoy me. Kind and happy people often make a worthy difference in how customer react to any problems or even their own personal baggage.
The "free breakfast" was a somewhat FROZEN egg sandwich and a smallish snack (fruity-filling grain bar). Guests were expected to microwave the sandwiches in their rooms (which had them, of course). Nothing else was offered. No juice or coffee.
I don't know if this kind of food service is only happening during COVID times, but the website should DEFINITELY be more clear about this service. It is a FROZEN box meal, not a "breakfast" you can eat in a any kind of dining area. In fact, you can only defrost the egg sandwich by taking it to your room and using the provided microwave oven. The sandwich is actually decent FOR WHAT IT IS. However, I NEVER take kindly to offers that I believe are reasonably likely to be misleading, by either intention OR carelessness of the web site staff. Also, there are places nearby for a big and affordable breakfast, so the breakfast issue is probably not a deal-breaking factor for most people selecting the hotel.
Rooms included a small drip-coffee brewers and a few pods of ground coffee. Also included was a mini-fridge, though it was not cold. (I didn't bother to see if it would cool down, since I didn't need it.) We used the free ice from the ice machine to supplement our cooler when we left. The ground floor had a broken machine, but the one upstairs worked.
In general, I prefer rooms farther down the hall, so less traffic passes by the room. This hotel was quiet so foot traffic didn't seem to matter during the limited morning hours we were there.
Rooms were quiet. The hotel heavily caters to truckers and business travelers who are typically very respectful of hotel etiquette. :-) The hotel was full but we never heard any other guests in the nearby rooms.
The A/C was a typical unit low on the outside wall near the foot of the outside bed. The thermostat has a color-coded sliding scale to ensure you can figure out which way to move the sliding knob. The unit functioned well and quietly. :-)
The beds are a tad too soft IMO. However, despite my bad back, I did NOT wake up with any pain. (It helps to be exhausted when you go to sleep!) :-)
Carpeting and other furniture was standard. Not much room to walk around the two Queen-size beds, but that is expected.
The bathrooms have no fans, so when you shower, the mirror quickly fogs up.
Also, our room lock was broken, so when the late-night clerk took us to our new room, it was understandably not prepped for three people. Thus, we were short a towel. The towels are only medium size, so my wife got to use a rather damp towel to dry with. :-b Our bathroom also lacked a shower cap. Luckily, my wife brought one but she had to disrupt her sleep to get it for me. Not cool. Not a terrible oversight by the hotel, but just another part of two-star experience. :-/or their logo is not a complete Q! :-|
Not a bad stay except for a few minor things
Reviewed 6 June, 2021
The room was decent. However the outlet in the bathroom did not work at all. And since it was only a two-night stay I let the desk know but it wasn't worth it to switch rooms. TV was on its last legs I think because the picture was all red and dark and there really didn't seem to be any way to set the controls on the picture quality. A few things in some awkward places like the ironing board and the chair which got in the way but that was more minor thing. Overall it was so so. I've stayed in worse, that's for sure
Great for the price

This was a great value 45$ per night for a clean, safely located pleasant place to stay overnight. It was odor free and the staff was courteous. It is a bit dated in the bathroom fixtures. Room had fridge and microwave.

The staff were nice. there was an odor when we walked into the office.
Our room was outdated . Smelled musty. The A/C was old. Rugs needed to be replaced. Could use a good cleaning!. But ok for one night,
Typical Quality Inn property
Reviewed 27 August, 2019
This is a Quality Inn, so you know what you're getting: an older hotel property that has not been well maintained and updated. That's exactly what you're getting here. The only reason to stay here is that it is relatively affordable and close to the Carlisle Fairgrounds for car show events.
Outside, the employees sit in front of the main entrance and smoke.
Inside the lobby, everything is worn - the floor tiles, the carpet, the ceiling tiles, the furniture. All of common spaces in the hotel absolutely reek of cigarette smoke.
On the positive side, the rooms smell better than the hallways and the beds were clean. The people at the front desk were generally friendly and the air conditioning is cold.
That said, you can see in the pictures I've attached how dated and worn items in the room were. The paint on the tub was peeling off, and the walls, moldings and doors were scratched and scuffed. The dead bolt on my door didn't work.
All in all, if there's no other place better you can stay, at the very least you won't get bed bugs here. Just realize going in that this property is generally in rough, under maintained condition and really showing its age.
