Dull,old and boring
The good stuff - accommodation, cleanliness and close to a shopping center. Dash, the robot. Needs improvement - staff are uninvolved, they just don’t care. Service is slow. Restaurant has very very limited options.
I went to check in and it was packed, but check in was easy and quick. I let them know I had medication that needed to be refrigerated and they sent someone to put a fridge in my room right away, which was really appreciated! View from the room was beautiful and room itself is updated, clean, and large. I had a great stay.
5 night work stay
It's ideally located in Silicon Valley for all the places you need to get to, it's even close to the McCarthy Ranch shopping complex which has a Walmart, In & Out burger, starbucks etc.... the hotel however needs a makeover. It feels tired and a 3.5 star hotel, small things like the air con is an in room unit, the bathroom looks tired, the breakfast area has an average selection. So depending on what price you're paying set your expectation that the hotel is in a convenient location but in need of a spruce up. I would stay there again purely because of the 10min to the nearest in and out burger place.
Poor mgmt - Dene Nui
Stayed for 2 weeks here and had a dissatisfaction with the customer service attitude with the Asst Manager Pedro Zaldivar. So the frontdesk of the hotel told me I could escalate to the GM Dene Nui and gave me her contact details. Reached out to you via email and unsurprisingly, Dene did not respond but instead escalated the matter to my company. As a spire elite member, but regardless, I should be receving top nothc service from the hotel. Instead, Dene and Pedro showed only contempt (why, paying corporate rate and being an spire elite member is not good enough for this hotel?), insincerity in resolving issues and finally the poorest of poor customer service. Not only is this hotel expensive by corporate rate standards, the service is very inconsistent Except for a very few select staff (who happen to be interns), there is nothing to boast about this hotel. Avoid this hotel. There are better options with better service, amenities and price. By the way, they dress up their shuttle service which airlines have paid them for to shuttle their crew, as 'free' service to guests. But guests do not have priority and the hotel do not set the right expectation of shuttle availability.
Poor service by the Asst Guest Service Manager Pedro Zaldivar
So I was told by the hotel that I could request for shuttle service to anywhere within 5 miles of the hotel, anytime. After staying more than a week with great service from many of the staff so far, I asked for the shuttle and was told that I had to wait for more than 2hrs as the shuttles were out ferrying airlines crews. So the hotel knew that there is a schedule where they will not be able to schedule guests, and I feedback that guests expectations could be much better set by informing guests that there would be blackout time for the shuttles. I gave the feedback to the asst guest service manager Pedro Zaldivar, who firstly chose to argue with me about the merit of the system instead of acknowledging my feedback, and then he said that he would personally shuttle me while giving me an opportunity to address my feedback. When I got in the shuttle, and presumably to address my feedback, he wasnt interested in listening and was more interested in commenting that he would raise it to my company. I gave him additional feedback, and he just kept quiet - so much for addressing my concerns or even just acknowledging. So to address this issue, I asked for a sincere apology. Pedro called me, and instead of once again acknowledging my feedback, he chose to again argue with je over the phone. I told him if he was calling to apologise, to send me an apologu letter handwritten to show sincerity. 5 hrs later back at the hotel and no letter. I asked, and 1.5hrs later, a letter appeared (see attached). One para 'apologizing' for the inavailability of the shuttle - which was not the main issue I feedback about in the first place. How sincere is this letter? Great working staff, very poor management. Hotel was also costly (there were better options available) and lack basic necessity if you are not a member or on so-called corporate rate, and no breakfast included. I could stay nearby this hotel and get better service and amenities, not to mention service. By far the worst IHG hotel I have come across as a Spire Elite member.
