I had stayed here before and only rated it a 4 star. It is not over a 5 star. It seems the entire hotel has been redone and it looks amazing. Our room was perfect - shower was fancy, great shampoo and condition products. The free breakfast includes eggs, bacon or sausage, toast, pancakes, fruit, coffee, tea, yogurt, and muffins.
DANG! Love the pillow and mattress..........and what's this....J.R. Watkins in the shower!!!
My wife and I stayed for only one night. We LOVED the pillows and mattress!! The room was spacious and clean, along with the bathroom. And as I mentioned in the title, they had J.R. Watkins body wash, shampoo and conditioner! I'm not sure about you, but all, and I mean all the hotels I've been to usually have cheap soap that drys out your skin. now with that said we have soft water at home, but I'm not kidding when I say this, it felt like this hotel had soft water, not sure if it was because of the soap.....? This was a nice surprise! We have stayed in the hotel that backs onto the back parking lot twice, and in my experience this hotel was nicer and cleaner. The only thing we didn't like was how loud heater/air conditioner, but I've never stayed in a hotel with quiet heater/air conditioners.
Would not recommend this hotel to anyone! Although the staff was caring and attentive the management lacked in basic customer care. We came in at 3pm only to be told the room was not ready Snd to give them 29 minutes. We gave them an hour.... when we first walked in we were greeted by a left behind sock, and food splats on the wall . The bathroom was filthy with snot on the shower, there was also toilet paper stuck to the walls. We complained the entire weekend being told the manager would handle it. Two days later.... The manager was “ gracious” enough to give us a $37 dollar discount for our 3 day stay! We told her we would take to social media as well as complain to the higher ups ... only to be shrugged off with a that’s all I can do attitude! The hallways had falling blinds and heat elements completely yanked from the walls, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!
I have stayed here a few times in the past before the hotel was renovated. Kudos to the hotel, great job! The rooms are clean and modern. Wi-Fi works very well. Front desk staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Overall fantastic experience.
Charged the wrong card upon departure
I asked the front desk guy (checked in -Leonardo and I don’t Remember the guy at checkout but we Checked out Monday the 11th around 10 in the morning, both guys were clueless but the guy at checkout messed up the charges big time he needs to be re-trained for no less then 10 days) to make sure the credit card I gave them for incidentals was NOT charged only the credit card on file that reservations were made online. The guy said yes everything good. We did not charge your card. Now mind you The whole family was visiting my sister who now lives there. We all came from the states. So American money is less expensive then Canadian. The total came out to be around 288$ CAD. But The American exchange was 165$ per night. So my sister paid for it so we don’t get charge foreign exchange charges. So I can my sister with tax included 200$ (Amount is off a bit but follow my point ) Next thing I see when we got home that same night is a charge on my credit card for 288$ mind you , they didn’t even change it to American money. They made the mistake to charge my credit card but what’s worse they didn’t even change the amount from Canadian to American money. So my sister called and they said they will refund the money so after a week , I look in my bank account and I see a refund of 204$ But what happened to the 78$ missing from the 288$. My sister calls again and they said that would be a different charge and will be sent separately. We’re like ok. Fine. So a week later I see nothing ... so my sister calls again and the manager LENA and says it was sent Friday so we should receive it Monday depending on my bank. Well, it was Sunday at the time so I waited till Tuesday to be in the safe side. My bank said I should have had it if they infect sent it on Friday. Well my sister has been calling them for the past week and they keep telling her that the manager is busy on the phone or out to lunch. Manager never called her back which is unacceptable as a manager. Never how do you deal with such clueless Front Desk and an unprofessional manager in my life, if she didn’t know how to deal with things she could’ve asked her superiors for help because all we look for is a callback an answer doesn’t have to be the right answer but at least make us feel like you care. It was 10 of us staying in the hotel and every year we planned to stay there when we visit our sister in Canada. WE Will never stay in that hotel ever again. We’re done with IHC specially holiday day in express in Milton. NEVER again. This is the first time I wrote a review about a business. And this was worth it. As of today at almost 9pm , we have not heard from a manager to at least apologize for ignoring us .. No one had the decency to call and try to fix the issue and if they couldn’t , well ..then Offer one or two nights for free and believe me that’s all it would have took to not complain or be upset about this issue. I am so disappointed... none of my family members will ever stay there again. On the positive side , the rooms were really nice , clean and beds were really comfortable specially the pillows.
