We made a reservation for two people from a well-known website, when we arrived at the hotel, the gentleman at the front desk gave us the keys. The room had only one bed. When we showed our reservation which was confirming two guests, he told us exactly this: "This is what happens when you buy from a cheap website!" And the funny thing is the website he told us was not the website we made our reservation. When we said that he said " they are similar". We were pretty disappointed with his unprofessional attitude and asked him if we can cancel the reservation. He refused to cancel the reservation. We had to request another room with two beds and we were of course charged extra (he also changed and increased the initial upgrade fee charge). There were other small things happened during our stay which clearly showed that this hotel was not professionally managed. We were charged incidental provision credit to our credit card, which did not go off for 2 weeks after our stay. I had to call to hotel and ask them to mark that we checked out so that the charge on my credit card will fall off (the person on the phone initially claimed that it was my banks fault, no it was not. Hint: I work for that bank :)
Other than the disappointment of this stay, I can say that free breakfast and location of the hotel was good.
If you are looking for a cheap stay (not a boutique hotel) with a good location, this hotel can be a good option. However, if you are expecting a little bit more, I'd suggest looking for another option in the area.
Loud construction noise (inside and outside)
Reviewed 27 October, 2019
The hotel building is very old and not in good shape. As a consequence of the heavy rain last Thursday the building had a leak through the ceiling in the hallway (4th floor). The hotel decided to repair the damage immediately, scheduling workers almost everyday including on a Sunday morning without informing guests about repairs noise. I called to explain that it was a Sunday, and I wanted to have some rest and sleep. Impossible, the receptionist blamed the rain and told me they couldn’t help me. Luckily after a few moments they called me back and offered to changed my room. The new room was located on a different floor, no construction noise from the inside the hotel this time, but they offered construction noise from the outside in this case. Everyday from 7 am, we had noise from a new construction building behind the hotel. I read about this problem in a comment on this site and I ignored it because I thought maybe construction was over, unfortunately that was not the case. I asked about this issue to the receptionist and the response was that I have to leave everyday to avoid the noise.
This hotel has an excellent location but it is clear that they don’t care about their guests comfort. I asked the front desk to pass my message to the management and they never contacted me, they didn’t offer an apology, nothing.
The best part of my experience was the breakfast basket that they leave outside the door every morning.
I believe that when you pay for a service, In this case I reserved and pay the room directly to the hotel, you deserve, at least some consideration. A hotel should be a place to have some comfort and rest. I understand situations like the leak might happened (something that can be avoid if they invest on the health of the building), a gesture of courtesy and respect to the guests is necessary, and loud repair noise should be communicated.
Beside that, towels are old, housekeeping service is good, shampoo and soap are awful, if you stay here bring your own. The only person that is professional and customer care experience in the front desk is the gentleman in the afternoon shift. As I mentioned before, this place needs urgently renovations.
Loved this little gem

I stayed here for three nights while visiting my daughter. It is a cozy boutique hotel right across from the metro. Location is fantastic. It’s clean, quiet, friendly and perfect for your next visit to MONTREAL. Breakfast arrives in a basket outside your door every morning. Staff are great and coffee available all day from the kitchen on lower level. Will stay here again! Thank you.
Excellent Location & Helpful Staff

We stayed at Auberge Le Pomerol during our first visit to Montreal and it was the perfect home-base for our trip. The location is DIRECTLY across from a subway station which was perfect for us, but not noisey. It was nearby many food and entertainment options. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast which is left outside your door each morning (breakfast in bed!!!) and includes breads, fruits, juice and yogurts. We got a basement room with a great scenic "window". It allowed us to get great sleep and enjoy the city. The bi-lingual staff was friendly and helpful. Very clean!

This hotel is considered Boutique and as such it has small rooms and community spaces. This IS NOT for handicapped! You walk in on one level and need to go either up or down stairs in order to get to the elevator. Except for the man who registered us in, all the staff was wonderful. The first guy was not friendly or helpful. There is no convenient parking except for a lot about 2 1/2 blocks away which is $22 a day. The location is convenient. Breakfast is given to you on your door in a cute basket. It contains croissants, rolls, a piece of fruit, yogurt and juice boxes. There is also butter and cream cheese in it. Then you can take it down to the little dining room to eat. Late in the evening, there are snacks in there. This is not an inexpensive hotel and I do not know if I would stay there again.
