Our honeymoon destination
We go here every wedding anniversary and love it. Two steps away from the beach, friendly staff, great rooms, good wifi. The breakfast is first rate but get there early as parking is a little limited. Never stopped us as we love it.
We only stayed the one night, as we were just passing through the area, onto a destination further on. The room was clean and well presented, and the hotel was full of French charm. The location is perfect, as it is very central. No parking is provided by the hotel, however we managed to get a space in a public parking area just across the road, which was free due to it being the weekend.
probably, i did not have any chance, there were insects in the room. except this, for me it is very important, the hotel is well placed and it has a good ambience. We declared the presence of insects at the reception but unfortunatelly there was no other room available.
COCKROACH INFESTATION and awful smell
We returned to this hotel having spent an enjoyable night here last year and booked 3 double rooms for our family group. It’s in a central location and the public areas and rooms are smart and characterful. We were repulsed however by the strong smell of urine in the Reception area on arrival. A cold and indifferent greeting from the Receptionist and we couldn’t wait to get out of the Reception because of the bad smell. Our room on the second floor appeared to be clean. However, my son and his girlfriend on the first floor were disgusted by a large cockroach running across their floor. He caught the cockroach and presented it to the Receptionist the next morning in a cup. She seemed completely unsurprised by having a cockroach deposited on her desk, and didn’t even offer an apology, just asked which room he was in, and left it there. We then went down to a below ground floor room where our bikes had been stored overnight, where the floor was covered in dead and live cockroaches, and at least 5 cockroach traps, all overflowing with dead cockroaches. The smell was terrible. We pointed out to the receptionist that the hotel obviously has a serious cockroach infestation, and she shrugged and said it’s because the hotel is situated near a river! Does that mean all hotels near rivers just accept an infestation as normal? I don’t think so! The Receptionist’s initial derisory offer of a 10 euro discount (when each of our 3 rooms was 96 euros each plus 10 euros for breakfast) was completely insulting, but worse than this was her complete lack of interest in the fact that they are serving food in a place that is unfit for this purpose. We will not stay here again. No-one should stay here.
COCKROACH INFESTATIONPLEIN DE CAFARDS
Great location- nice building. However the hotel is completely overrun with cockroaches, and run by apathetic staff who just don’t care. We were greeted with a repulsive smell of raw sewerage in the lobby- had we not prebooked I’d have walked straight back out on arrival. The hotel deurope has a bad infestation that clearly isn’t being dealt with. Avoid like the plague.
