Was in Mubende for a Business trip with associates.Had booked in Townview on recommendation of friends. First, impossible to get to hotel as no clear signage.Had to pay a motorcycle guy to guide us to the hotel.Carried our bags to the ?reception cum serving area.Guided to our rooms with paltry fittings. My room had a broken toilet seat with an non-functional cistern.Plus point was that we had hot water. Was kept awake due to a lot of noise from the gym and loud music, finally succumbing to fatigue at 2am. As promised earlier by the management, breakfast was not ready at our agreed time of departure. We left disappointed. Highly unlikely to recommend this place to anyone. Better travel a further 150 Km to Fort Portal.
Worst place I've visited in several years

We arrived at the hotel at 4pm to be asked what type of room we wanted - we had booked in advance! There were NO rooms 'made up' despite the fact that we were the only visitors - we had to wait while sheets etc were produced. The view from the room consisted of a mattress lying in the sun drying out presumably! The restaurant had no menu and we were offered 'local food or snacks'. When we asked for a phone number for a private hire vehicle we were left waiting for half an hour - on asking for progress we were told "I'm still looking". Throughout the experience we were treated as an inconvenience, not as customers. I would rather sleep in a small lodge that receive this treatment again. We left at 6pm and went somewhere else - without paying anything.
Best hotel in Mubende

Don't go to Pride Travellers Hotel. Stay in the Town View. Good price, lovely rooms with nice shower (tho I think I got an electric shock). Very friendly staff and a nice bar with decent food also. Breakfast is nice too and the staff were very accommodating when we were late for breakfast.
Probably your best choice in Mubende

I stayed 1 night at Townview Hotel in Mubende as I visited the area on a work trip. The hotel is rated 'top choice' in one of the Uganda guide books (don't recall whether it's Bradt or Footprint) and it probably is your best choice if you find yourself in Mubende. Townview Hotel is located on a hill on the outskirts of Mubende town in quiet surroundings. The rooms are simple but spacious and reasonably priced with big beds, TV, bathrooms with hot water and views of Mubende town. The food served at the adjacent restaurant 'Trudy's Dinner' however is not very interesting. The choice of dishes available is small and the food was rather bland. Don't be fooled by their website pictures which has nothing to do with the food they actually serve! Staff however was friendly and helpful. Mubende can make for a convenient stay-over when you travel between Kampala and Fort Portal; especially if you want to visit some of the nearby tombs and caves. And if you do choose to make a stop here, Town View Hotel is not a bad choice.
