I arrived to the hotel and on the outside it looked really nice, and the staff was very nice. The girl who checked me in thow wasn't that great to understand english, so I was lucky to speak some thai. The didn't help you with your bags up to the room, but I didn't mind because I travel with good working bags that has wheels. When I came in the room the first thing that hit me was a bad smell from the toilet. (I was given a room on the top floor 608 to be precise. The size of the room was ok, but the furniture I could see how dirty and worn down rhey where. It looked like something the bought on a fleemarket. Further on I tried the bed it was the worst matress I have ever slept on, not only that the hotel is next to a road and at night it was so noicy from traffic so I didn't get much sleep. Sometimes I woke up and thought I had a motorbike in my room. I had booked a stay for 5 nights, but after 1 night I decided to move. So after one more painful night I checked out from this hotel and will NEVER return again.
Dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in.
I am sure this was a great hotel once, back in the 1980 or so. But everysinds they forgot to maintain, or even clean it. Fungus everywhere in the bathroom, live electric wires, electric sockets that are just hanging lose from the wall etc etc. the 32 inch flatscreen tv that is promised on booking.com and other wedsites is actually a very old picture tube TV, 30 years old or so. We stayed four nights and roomservice used a different excuse four times for not having cleaned the room. Reception ws not open when we checked out so the extra money we paid as warrenty to the hotel was not refunded. No indoor pool, restaurant was never open. But I guess that if you are not afraid of fungus or getting electrocuted this could be a great place to stay.
The reception staff were really friendly, although when we asked to stay one hour past check in they said we had to pay for an entire night! The hotel wasn’t busy at all, so it was a little annoying they couldn’t accommodate this for a small fee. The rooms were clean, although we had a lot of small ants running from the window, through the room and into the bathroom sink! The bathroom was very modern with a lovely shower, rooms were a bit of a contrast as it were very dated. Plenty of space, rooms are rather large with dining room space too. The hotel is close to the main square although you would still need to hire tuk Tuk (60-100) or songthaew (which is the cheaper of the two 20-30B per ride) these are essentially shared taxis but you usually get one to yourself and you just hail them from the street. 7/11 is over the road as well.
Wasn't the biggest fan. It's pretty big place. Our room smell a little funny. It wasn't terrible so if this is what you find it's not the worst. It does have a pool although I did not partake. The room had a pretty nice view. It's somewhat like trying to get in and out of prison there are so many locked doors. For the money there are plenty of other better places around.
Good value for money - basic
Stayed here for a week 400 baht deposit for both room keys. Room had good air con and good mountain view, room cleaned daily and dtaff friendly. Perfect location not in old town but thats a good a thing apartently. Love this hotel is close to Maya (shopping mall) and top tourist attractions. Silver temple, elephant sanctuary etc. Fresh towels daily too. I wouldnt say the pool is brillant and had a couple of key problems being reset but the staff will fix straight away. I would recommend staying here if on a budget and does have a couple of english channels (news) and fridge/freezer and kettle with tea bags. Good luck with your search
