Good location and pretty clean despite shortage of staff
Opinión escrita el 18 de Julio de 2021
We have been coming up to TC for over a decade and try different hotels, so when Seasons Inn (I think it's the old Motel 6) had a decent price for three nights, we jumped at it. Almost no staff, which is everywhere right now. There is no breakfast (coffee and packaged donuts- but it's still Covid restrictions here) but there is a microwave and frig in the room. The laminate flooring makes me feel like it's a bit more clean than old carpet. Great location walking to a few restaurants, mini golf, and Dairy Queen. Yeah, the parking lot is sketchy due to a weekly rate place sharing the parking lot and there was always a group of smokers standing around outside, but not too bad. Pros outweighed the cons for us the week after Cherry Festival, price, location, quiet enough even with the heavy road traffic, and clean enough to determine a return visit over a few of the other 3 star places we've stayed at.
Very clean in great location.

This hotel is very clean and is in a great location across from lake. Enjoyed the hot tub and pool. Always love having fridge and microwave. Bed was very comfortable. Good coffee in room. Nice triangular shaped bathtub. Would stay here again!
Motel 6 accommodation with new name.

We stayed at Seasons Inn during a time when prices are at its peak (summer) but due to COVID and services reduced, the prices are more attractive for travelers seeking budget accommodations. The location is across from the bay where the nicer hotels are but we did not mind because there were restaurants and store was within walking distance.
The rooms are basic and dated but I like the laminate flooring for safety and cleanliness to the eyes. It appears the front desk operator who I think is the manager is also housekeeping that may explain the sign at the front desk to dial for assistance. They do not serve meals at this time (due to COVID) but we came prepared with our own food and water. Pets are allowed at $5 bucks each daily which I thought was a great value!
If you are looking for a place to sleep because beds are comfortable, this will suffice while in town. I will agree with most though that the toilet was too small and sits low to the ground. For the guys, you may have trouble sitting and keeping the boys pointing south like I did if you get my drift. Other than that, its clean enough to work for us with the dogs. Note- the hallways may smell of weed in case that bothers you.
Poor Service Inn

When I checked in noone at the desk had to used their phone (covid) risk, phone rang 29 times before anyone answered. Clerk was rude and unfriendly, she acted like I was bothering her.You wou lkd think they would be happy to have customers. No price reduction w/o breakfast.
I can understand Covid but No coffee pots in the room, they still had hair dryers, iron, ice bucket etc...We should have been told!! Had to got out and purchase coffee.
The vinyl floor was dirty. Dont think they bothered to mop!!
Door frame inside bathroom was disgusting, rusty and spilled coffee or something on it.
In the evening man sat on top of picnic table smoking everynight we were there.
I could go on... but you get picture
Room was ok, parking lot was sketchy.

My husband and I were looking for a cheaper place to stay in Traverse City just for one night. Since its December, everything was priced fairly reasonable (everything is insanely expensive in the Summer), but we specifically wanted a place with a reasonable pet fee as we have 2 dogs. Their fee was $5 a night per dog, which was a lot cheaper than most other places so we were sold on it.
Our room seemed small, without much storage space, and the bathroom seemed large yet had the weirdest shaped tub I have ever seen (like short and coffin shaped). It did seem clean and the floors were laminate, which seemed like the cleanest option for a place that so openly accepts pets. That's kind of where the best stuff ends.
The parking lot was sketchy and the place just had a weird vibe overall. If you can get a spot right next to the building, its not too bad, but the rest of the lot out back was just kind of dark and weird. I had to take my dogs out a few times to go to the bathroom and every single time I had random men trying to talk to me about dogs, just hanging around out back smoking. One van even drove past me with a guy saying something to me about being alone in the lot at night. At that point I told my husband he had to take the dogs out himself from that point on. Seeing the other reviews leads me to believe that this place shares a lot with another sketchy hotel, and that doesn't shock me at all after my experience there.
We didn't have the breakfast but it didn't look like much. For a very cheap hotel I wouldn't expect much though.
If I were coming up here during the summer and it was a significant savings compared to other hotels, I would stay again, and just never go out in that parking lot more than upon arrival and departure. However, during the winter, there are plenty of other very reasonable options that I'd pick hands down before this hotel.
