O cadenas... Las calles se ponen muy resbalosas.
Such a great location, but very outdated and clunky rooms
Room windows faced a nice view of a stairwell only. Back view was all blacked out and unit felt dark and outdated. I have been to a ton of timeshares in RCI and this one needs much updating. They have a great location and are missing the boat on the room quality, view, amenities. It could be a gem if updated.
Terrible is a Compliment
We checked in after hours late on a Sunday evening. Because of the front desk being closed, we unfortunately had to spend one miserable night here until we could check out first thing in the morning. To say that the room was dirty would be an understatement. Thick dust and grime caked every surface. There were broken light fixtures and appliances. Nothing had been updated since 1985: big 80's TV's, box fans, and crusty furniture. I'm pretty sure the spiders living there were multi-generational residents. If we wouldn't have been stuck there for one excruciating night, it may have been funny. The only good things to come from this were that my daughter did not suffer an asthma attack before we could leave and we met a couple of other nice families who were also escaping in the morning.
Lovely Place, Super Accommodating Staff but Lack of Communication was Troubling
Loved our room and our location. Staff was super nice and accommodating but lack of communication among staff and to guests was troubling. No WIFI in our building but they gave us another room for WIFI only as we had two high schoolers and one person working remotely. However, workers didn't know we were in the room and kept walking in on us. Very dangerous in my opinion, especially after the 1999 Carole/Julie Sund and friend murders in Yosemite by a maintenance worker. On Friday, they suddenly kicked us out of the WIFI room in the morning with no advance warning. Staff on duty didn't know we were in there and they needed to clean. We cleaned up and left the room. The girls missed 5 of their 6 periods of school. Our building's WIFI had been "fixed" but I still didn't have the bandwidth to work very quickly. The more troubling problem is that when we left my daughter couldn't find her $150 Apple Airpods. We thought maybe they were in the WIFI room since we had to pack up and leave there so quickly. The office told us no one was in the WIFI room and gave us the master code to go in there to check for them. Someone was in the room. It was so embarrassing and so unnecessary. ALSO, they didn't tell us that you had to move your car every single day. When it snowed, I didn't move my car for two days and got a tow warning slapped on the windshield. A little communication up front would have been nice for that too. Lots of lessons learned for me. Next time I'll ask more questions up front.
Not at all as represented
This Perennial Vacations /Tahoe Village is actually a conglomeration of different buildings and one hotel type setting. The buildings designated for Rci exchanges is a very dated set of buildings called Eagles nest which is off a parking lot surrounded by densely built condominiums and homes. The Eaglesnest buildings are old, and accessed from the parking lot via a walk up the hill and then sets of very very steep and numerous stairs. It is not practical nor comfortable to take a weeks worth of luggage and groceries up and down the stairs. On the morning we left, it rained a little bit and the stairs were worse. The units we are very very dated and our particular one and had a musty smell. The units were very very dated and our particular one had a musty smell. “Tahoe Village” itself shows photos of updated units which do not resemble at all the bare-bones 70s type units that college students on a budget would cram a bunch of people into for a ski weekend. The beds themselves were hard to maneuver around since there were Mary inches between the end of the bed and the walls. There were not two nightstands, so there was no reading light on one side of the bed , The closet was small, at a weird angle and actually difficult to access. There were brooms and snow shovels stored in the extremely small closets. Units were also represented as having a view. The one and a unit in the building probably did have one but no one else did. The unit we were assigned was dark. In addition, there was no housekeeping service. And guess we’re expected to take heavy bags of trash down the numerous stairs all the way down to the parking lot to wrestle with the bear bins. I have good things to say, the beds were comfortable, the dishwasher quiet, and there was a washer dryer, stacked, but taking up half the closet. It was quite disappointing.
