Meeting, Eating - What a Great Event!

Reviewed 18 january, 2022

We used the Ace for our annual Board meeting. The staff was exceptional, they meet our every need. The food was delicious and the meeting space was perfect. Our meeting was a great success and we could not have asked for anything better.

Ok, but very disappointed

This hotel states it is a 4 star hotel and had high ratings on Trip Advisor. The first tip off that it is not a 4 star hotel is that no one was there to help with the luggage. Let me state the good things first: The hotel front desk was very attentive and helpful. Security was very good. Now the things that we were not happy with: 1. The interior of the hotel was solid black. It made the hallways very dark--like an unsafe back alley.. We couldn't even see the black ice bucket in the black cabinet until I felt around for it. 2. Water lines were exposed in the ceiling-just painted a different color. 3. The towels were as coarse as the floor mat. 4. Housekeeping failed to come one day--the excuse was we had requested no daily service which was not true.. 5. TV channel selection was limited by today's standards and the TV resolution was also not good by today's standards. 6. There was only once ice machine in the whole hotel. 7. There was no coffee pot in the room to make a cup in the morning. There was no complimentary pot set up near the entrance. You had to go to the coffee shop or the adjacent restaurant to have a cup of coffee.. 8. The front desk was helpful while there in person, but when I called before arriving, they often didn't answer the telephone.

Great for events!

We conducted a training at the Ace Hotel for ~100 people and absolutely loved working with their entire events team! Specifically want to shout out Bonnie, John and Tiaka. They were all so easy to work with and were very accommodating to our group. The hotel itself is very fun and unique, and the Barnett event space is perfect for large groups. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Our stay at the Ace Hotel in New Orleans got off to a great start when we were greeted by Shekela and Melanie at the front desk. My wife and I arrived in the late morning, bursting with excitement because it was our first vacation since before the pandemic trapped us in our New York City apartment for months, and Shekela and Melanie were able to get us checked in right away, which we really appreciated. Shekela also took the initiative to write down a few restaurant/activity recommendations for us because we arrived without having done much research. As for the hotel, we were impressed by the gorgeous and comfortable lobby. Our room was spacious and clean and had everything we needed, and the guitar was a fun touch. (Next time, we are going to splurge for a room with a record player and records!) We had a great meal at Josephine Estelle, a restaurant in the hotel, and enjoyed coffee and tea and pan au chocolat at Lovage, a cafe in the hotel. We loved the overall creative vibe of the hotel as well as the convenient location. It is ultimately the people who make a hotel stay great, and Shekela and Melanie are amazing ambassadors for the Ace Hotel--warm and friendly while also efficient and organized. We were glad they were both at the front desk when we checked out so we could say goodbye. This was our first trip to New Orleans, and they showed us what southern hospitality is truly all about. We get it now! And when we return to New Orleans, which we will, we will definitely stay at the Ace Hotel again.

I cannot say enough about the amazing staff: Ryan, Asia, Chiquita, and Melanie were extremely friendly and warm. Their hospitality was truly above and beyond. I would 💯 return to Ace Hotel based on the staff. The staff made my stay so pleasurable and loved how they greeted me every day and everyone, took time to get to know me, and had great conversation. The rooms are so unique and large and very comfortable bed. The hotel is truly an amazing experience. The vibe/decor of the lobby and art were wonderful.
