My friend and I stayed for the weekend and we had a room with a balcony. The pillows were extremely used and their was a stain on our comforter. I know I could have asked for different pillows / comforter but for such a short stay we didn’t. The room is very cute and designed nicely. The bathroom did not have any toiletries such as shower caps, Q-tips or nail files some things that other hotels have.
There is a club/restaurant upstairs. The ambiance was a lot of fun. The food and drinks were pricey but it was worth the good time we had dancing.
Customer service debacle

It saddens me to write this review, but the mismanagement of the last reservation I made at The Box House for my parent's 35th wedding anniversary, which they celebrated during this past Thanksgiving weekend -- was appalling. Being a long-time Greenpoint resident, The Box House has been my go-to hotel over the years when I need to book rooms for family and friends. Two weeks ago was no exception, with the only difference being the special nature of said event. That is why I personally went to the hotel three times during the buildup to make sure all of the details were taken care of for my parent's celebration. My wife and I asked in advance and paid for a room with a view of the city (they got a room with a view of the Pulaski bridge). On the day of their arrival, I went over ahead of time with a bottle of champagne and a bouquet of flowers and kindly asked the front desk person if she would please place the champagne on ice (the bottle was sitting on the table with an empty ice bucket next to it) and the flowers in a vase with water (they were tossed on the table next to the warm bottle of champagne). When my wife and I walked my parents over to help them check-in after eating Thanksgiving dinner at my loft, the night clerk sent us on a walkabout in the wrong direction up three flights of steps to the wrong room! Even though my parents, who have been there at least half a dozen times, asked her several times if she was sure they didn't have to take the elevators next to the lobby to get to the third floor. Rather than complain about all these mishaps that night, we took it all in stride and made the best of it. After all, we were celebrating a beautiful occasion. After my parents left, I went to speak with the general manager in person, and perhaps the main reason I am writing this negative review is due to that interaction. Miss Hernandez had an excuse/answer for all the mistakes that went on that night but failed to ask one simple question, "What can I do to make it up to your parents?" My folks are blue-collar old school. My father is a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel. A simple note or email apologizing for the night's events would have sufficed for them, and for me. Instead, here I am writing this review two weeks later and searching for a new go-to hotel in north Brooklyn.
Brooklyn home away from home

I lived in the Box House Hotel for a few days short of a month, most of it under strict pandemic quarantine. I was in town for a job and my employer adhered to the highest possible preventative standards. Despite being restricted to my room, the hotel made my stay as comfortable as possible. The room was huge and included a balcony with a view of the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. The gorgeous view, hardwood floor, comfy bed and clean but artsy decor distracted me from the loneliness of isolation.
My only complaint would be that the balconies should have outdoor furniture so I could have easily enjoyed my meals outside. But if you’re not under quarantine, that won’t matter so much. I loved the hotel and recommend it highly.

The Box House is a gem. I stayed for one month, and it became like a second home. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and beautifully designed. The lobby and hallways echos a Wes Anderson film set, which is charming and exciting. Best of all, the staff are gracious, friendly and professional, each and every one of them. I would rebook instantly, and I intend to!
Box Hotel Rooftop Experience

This review is for the rooftop. Hosted a surprise launch event for my wife's new label, and had a blast. There was a minor issue with balloons that got misplaced, but I was able to sort it out with the GM/director afterwards, and was provided a reasonable solution - this showed that they take customer service seriously. Will be back!
