Horrible Customer Service during COVID-19
We had to cancel our reservations for April 14-18, 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic. This was not by our choice, but by state/city shutdown of all New York City. We had called the hotel directly to cancel our room and inquire about a refund, but by the time we were able to call, no one was left in the hotel (words directly spoken later by the hotel staff we spoke to) so we called Wyndham customer service direct and were able to cancel. On this initial call with Wyndam, we were told a refund would be issued. When 3 weeks went by, we called again and they instructed to call the hotel, so we did. We reached a person that said she was not currently in the hotel, as no one was at the time, and that when they were able to go back into the hotel our refund would be processed. Now another 4 weeks has gone by and we still have not received our refund. Just got off the phone with Nandita Ghosh - Reservation & Revenue Co-Ordinator - who was very rude during the entire call - and she stated that there would be no refunds issued for her hotel. I can understand if by any choice/circumstance of the customer they cancelled their reservation that no refund would be issued, but this was set forth by the government that we could not travel. Not allowing for a refund in the current climate is an abhorrent way to handle your customers.
We were unable to travel mid-Feb. due to Covid-19. Wyndham main offices told us to rest easy as they would give us a full refund under the circumstances. However, it was all lies. They finally said NO refund, NO credit. Zero compassion. Zero flexibility. We have an immune-compromised child and weren't going to risk her life when Canada said no non-essential travel and NYC was a hot spot for the virus. They've stolen thousands from us and their excuse is we were a "no show". We called for days before our travel but no one answered their phones. Even when Expedia tried to call, no answer. Then they say we didn't call??? I'll never travel to this hotel again or recommend to anyone. People have a long memory and once Covid-19 passes, customers will remember this hotel as heartless, greedy, and corrrupt!
Filthiest hotel room ever.
Room is FILTHY!!!! Air doesn't work. My refrigerator had year old rotted food in it. The bed linen had bodily fluid (Nice way to put it) stains on it. I literally slept on top of the covers with a towel and my airplane blanket. Shower had a glob of hair on the floor. I have never felt so dirty in a hotel room!! Asked for bottled water. The front desk clerk says they only allow 2 bottles per day per room. She said she would "see if she could find some". That was yesterday....
breaking all of wyndham rules
I called last week to cancel a booking for march 27th as i did not want to travel to NYC in the midst of this health crisis. I was told by the rudest person I have spoken to, "Too Bad, We aren't giving any refunds", No Voucher and no credit. I tried to explain to her why I wouldn't be coming and that I spoke to Wyndham reservations already and they stated i would get a refund. She proceeded to yell at me and tell me she didn't work for Wyndham and hung up! I read the new cancellation policies on the Wyndham site Wyndham and its available for anyone to read . I must assume the owners of Tryp feel they can break these policies and basically steal from people! The Tryp should be pulled from TripAdvisor and the owners separated from Wyndham
Uncaring, Unjust and Inhuman
I called thier cutomer service center and was connected to somone who stated she was the manager, I believe her name was Lynda. i explained my plight which was i was no longer able to travel from overseas and that I saw online NYC mayor was shutting city down bue to the Virus outbreak. I could barley undertand the woman because of her accent and when i apologized and asked her to repeat herself she discided to yell at me, call me ridiclous and tell me it was too bad I wasnt getting any refund. When I tried to pleade my case she said " I don't care and I have no time for you!" and hung on me. I understand the pressue everyone is under during this health crisis but to speak anonther human being like that is horrendous. If she is infact a manager for the Tryp then they should be ashamed for giving her that position or at the very least retrain her. If they make thru this crisis I will never stay there nor will i ever recommend them to anyone, ever. This is not the last they have heard from me
