Hotel is good, staff is AMAZING

The hotel is good. Rooms are nice and clean. The location is great - it’s only a short walk to the Central Park and times square, so if you’re planning to explore the city on foot, this is definitely a good choice. Some rooms need minor renovation - new layer of fresh paint or new blinds would definitely have a positive impact on the overall look.
The staff here is amazing! First of all, everybody here is nice, pleasant, and are good at what they do. I wanted to specifically mention the lady at the counter who left a very good impression, and, most importantly, manger Elizabeth, who is went above and beyond to ensure that our stay here is pleasant and quickly resolved the issue we had (we were booking through different company, so definitely not this hotel’s fault). I would say that work Elizabeth did for us left the biggest impact on our stay here - knowing that people like her are working here, I will definitely stay here again and recommend this place to friends
I’m attaching the night view from my room - you can see the Times Square
What a RIP OFF

We booked, and paid upfront for a stay at Westhouse in December last year and were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic we were unable to go. We cancelled very early and requested a refund which we were promised. Despite numerous attempts Westhouse have not refunded the money and now are ignoring our emails. DO NOT BOOK ROOMS HERE UNLESS YOU LIKE THROWING YOUR MONEY AWAY!
Close to everything.

My first stay at Westhouse in Feb/20 (just before the pandemic) was excellent. Staff is nice and helpful specially the concierge. Very comfortable room, good breakfast and no complaints of any kind. Walking distance from broadway and a metro station just around the corner to go anywhere in Manhattan.
ZERO Customer Service

I have been trying to contact the hotel since June re a refund I am due for a visit which can't take please, no one is answering my many emails and the phone line just rings out HOWEVER the phone line to take new bookings is open but no one can help me with refund except logging an email with customer service who no one returns my calls.
I was due to visit the hotel on 22.11.20 due to covid our flight was cancelled so have been asking for a refund since June. I have had no communication to tell me the hotel is even closed.
The lack of service has been horrendous - AVOID
Beware the small print of NYC crooks

Just a warning. I was ripped-off for over $300 for services including (quote) "the use of the fridge", not that there was anything in the fridge - this is the cost of keeping it cold...
The hotel was OK, but they scam you with a pre-authorisation on your credit card for damage etc (which is reasonable) but then once you've left, a couple of weeks later you get a bill for stuff you've never used - or wanted - & in my case #voyageprivé (travel agent) didn't accept responsibility for.
Ignore the photos of the terrace too - it's going to be closed for 5 years & is unusable.
They might as well have had 'Milo' from Times Square as the doorman, demanding $20 just to open the door.
READ THE SMALLPRINT & ideally book elsewhere.
