Convenient Location/Consistent Quality

I would like to say that due to my two occupations, I have experienced many different types of hotels and reward programs and when it comes to Wyndham Rewards brand hotels this Super 8 is hands down the best for the Newburgh West Point/Stewart International Airport Area.
A crucial part of what makes a stay enjoyable and thus memorable is the staff at the front desk regardless of the amount of stars. Helpful and reliable staff can make it or break as far as the quality of the stay and everyone was helpful in their own way.
Upon check in, Courtney would always make the check in process seamless for me, as I usually have lengthy stays and want to get settled in asap, even making sure to ask stay my preferences such as what floor I prefer.
Letitia is helpful in explaining the different ways I can use and redeem my Wyndham Reward points and goes above and beyond in even mentioning some valuable info on reward points systems like airlines and other travel related areas as well.
Bill knows the area very well is able to provide several points of interest for dining and even recreational activities. Whenever I wanted to try something different for dinner on a particular day he always has some great suggestions.
Joe makes the checkout process easy. Sometimes I need a receipt for my records and he always has one ready upon request. He also has fresh brewed coffee ready unlike some locations, where it isn't always available at the time I wake up. This is truly appreciated.
Lee, the manager was able to provide info on the different rates and which ones that I was eligible for. In regards to booking, she isn't just the reason why I've decided to book directly from now on, but also why I am now aiming for Diamond with Wyndham.

The location ran my card before I could have even checked in. I lock all my cards, it took time to resolve that with the credit card company.
We were sent to an unturned room.
The room we did receive was fair, though less than what was originally reserved.
The front desk person was kind, never had an attitude. She is why the review is two stars vs. one.
Stay if you HAVE to, if you can stay elsewhere do so.
Substandard for the price!

I was in town on business over Labor Day weekend and stayed for 3 nights. The pros at this property are friendly desk staff, good water pressure, AC is good and beds are very comfortable and multiple restaurants across the street and one in front of the hotel. The room itself was not clean and in very poor condition. I stay in a lot of economy hotels including this brand and I am not exactly picky as long as the basics are covered. The basics were NOT covered. There was lots of dirt in the corners on the carpet and on the walls, the comforter had cigarette holes and burns in it (non-smoking room), the lights weren't plugged in, the tub was not clean, the remote for the TV had loose pieces inside it which rattled when you move it and all of the outlets were loose and falling apart with filth covering them. House keeping didn't even bother to turn the AC on, plug the lights in (real fun after a four hour drive hauling your gear to the room only to have to plug things in in the dark) or even put toilet paper on the holder (had to search for it). Additionally, the one side driveway leading up to the parking lot was a mess. Massive pot holes that could do some serious damage to your vehicle.
Refused to give us a refund

Walked inside to the check-in counter told the guy we reserve the room and paid for it already he said you have to be at least 21 and refused to let us stay in the room. Then when I ask for a refund she refused to give me a refund and told me to contact customer service so I contacted them and they also refused to give me a refund when I didn’t even stay the night in the room and had to rent a different hotel room so I could sleep that night.

We asked for a room change and was denied. The reason was because we had bed bugs from a chair. We asked for a rollout and was told due to fire Marshalls not allowing it we couldn’t have it. So we had our daughter sleep on the chair and at 3 am she was scratching away And woke up to bug bites all on her arm. We checked the chair and it was dirty. I am lost for words but sharing for those who care to stay here be aware.
