There was nothing at all good about this hotel! The hotel rooms were shabby the bathroom toilet handles were painted with emulsion paint!
The food and drinks were a ridiculous price! And the food was awful school dinners were better!
Service in the bar and restaurant so slow! Then to top it all you get served a cold breakfast!
Excelent service must be recognised

As members of the Springs Health Club ,which is part of the Celtic Manor group, I and a group pf members/friends meet for coffee every week in the hotel.
Most members of staff are courteous and very helpful when serving us, but today I would like to take this opportunity to mention one waitress in particular.
Whenever Tracy serves us, she asks how we all are with a beaming smile and nothing is too much trouble for her.
If the management want to show new staff examples of a high level of customer care they should suggest that they watch Tracy as we are always left smiling when she speaks to us.
Unfortunately I cannot point out an individual example of her good work as everything she does is to an exceptional professional standard, and today she told us that she has been working for the company for 20 years.
Keep up the good work Tracy!
Perfectly fine for the price, except for the food

This is my 4th stay at Coldra Court and I have stayed at well over 100 hotels of varying prices and ratings over the years. However, the reason for staying at Coldra Court is more through the fact that it is the main one that Golfbreaks use and not necessarily by choice. This review, is, therefore, based on the very modest price we paid for our golf break which included the hotel.
Reception and staff are generally very friendly and efficient. Car parking was £7.50 per day but I didn’t really mind that personally. Unlike another post I read, the rooms were generous and the bed was a good size and comfortable and there was certainly aircon and wi-fi in the rooms. There were a few more discarded trays outside the rooms upon arrival but they were clear reasonably quickly but you get that in most places, probably not quite to the level I was through. Had to use an app to get drinks and I will admit that this annoyed me but it was in COVID times and it seems that most businesses are doing this. I would hope that they go back to normal service soon but, once on the app the service was quite good. The food, by any standard, was shocking and has been every year that we have been. I promised myself that I will avoid this hotel in future years ‘only because of the food’ but it has always come down to good deal from Golfbreaks. Having said that, for the first time some of us went out to the town for what I can only describe as the best curry I can remember having. Maybe it was just because I knew the alternative would be something out of the freezer, probably from ASDA. I’m convinced they have no chefs because I do not think there is any actual cooking involved. I have seen some posts saying that the food was great but I would be interested in looking in these people’s fridges’ at home and seeing what they have because over 4 years and 11 meals I can tell you that there would be no ‘stand out meal ‘ here. The breakfast is better/ok, but like many hotels things are left under heaters and dry out and mass breakfast catering is usually mediocre anyway. I just asked then to cook me fresh stuff which they happily did. If you book this hotel then I think it is absolutely fine but I would strongly suggest that you eat out in the evening.
A reasonable stay

On arrival there was plenty of car parking available - but be aware of the £7.50p parking charge at checkout. Check in was efficient. All COVID protection arrangements were in place.
Our double room was on the ground floor & was clean, spacious, comfortable & modern - with a large flatscreen TV, a desk and a convertible sofabed. The overbath shower was good, but the Bath could not be used as the switch was disabled. There is No aircon. Wi-fi was available in the reception/bar area, but there was no connectivity in the rooms, which was inconvenient.
We were unable to secure a restaurant booking for a reasonable time at check in and had to eat in the bar. This was fine, although the supposed ‘blue cheese’ sauce with my steak was completely tasteless.
We did not use the leisure facilities, but the swimming pool looked good.
Breakfast was adequate, but some items were dry from being under the heat lamps for too long - notably sausage, eggs & mushrooms.
Overall, a reasonable stay, but certainly nothing special for a 4 star establishment.
