The most wonderful breakfast!

Reviewed 11 october, 2022

All I can say is wow! Such a charming place. My best friend and I had the most amazing stay. Our room was so comfortable, the breakfast as incredible, and the nook in the tower had the most beautiful view of the water. I can’t wait to stay here again! Thank you, Bryan and Fran!

This was our second trip to this wonderful B&B located in the heart of Newport. This wonderful Victorian gem is nicely situated with isolated views of the bay. The owner Bryan is always a pleasure to conversate with while enjoying one of his fantastic breakfast offerings. We always look forward to returning in the future.

We had a lovely 3 night stay at the Sarah Kendall House. Bryan, our host, warmly greeted us upon our arrival, and we were happily upgraded to the Isaac Kendall Room which was so spacious and had a lovely view! The breakfasts were outstanding, with everything you could want, and MORE! We spent some time each day relaxing in the garden, sitting in the Adirondack chairs, listening to the songbirds and having a daily visit with a baby bunny who didn't seem to mind sharing his garden one bit. After our daily walk to and from town, we rested in the late afternoons on the front porch, playing cards and enjoying the chocolate chip cookies that were left out for us each day. Bryan provided an interesting history of the home and his family, and since we love Victorian architecture and furnishings, it was the perfect place for us to stay! The neighborhood was so quiet and peaceful at night, but so close to the bustling waterfront, that we barely used our Jeep the entire time we were there! We took Bryan's suggestion to tour Fort Adams, and we were not disappointed! This was our first extended trip to Newport and we loved it so much that we hope to return again soon!

Beautifully renovated period house. We especially loved relaxing on the front porch after a day of exploring Newport. Breakfast was great. Another bonus was free parking. We had been using Airbnb or VRBO to find our vacation rentals recently, but nothing reasonably priced was available the weekend we chose to visit Newport. So we tried the Bed and Breakfast route. Loved it! Loved the Sarah Kendall House and would definitely return.

Mixed, Honest Review

Positives = Breakfast was great, room was cleaned daily, outside area was well maintained. Negatives = Stairs are difficult to climb, appeared as though the bathroom was done by the owner's nephew.......poor workmanship and cheap fixtures, radiator baseboard were in total disrepair, room needed some paint..... Though I'm sure Mr. & Mrs. Babcock take great pride in their home, not sure why an elderly person who appears to be in fairly poor health would continue on. I have some health issues and I decided a couple of years ago that it made more sense to semi-retire than to keep on pushing myself into the ground. Life is too short Mr. Babcock!!!
