Lovely stay in Listed Building
Opinión escrita el 29 de Julio de 2021
Really enjoyed three nights here. This is an 18th Century Grade II listed building with a thatched roof and cob walls. So all the floors are sloping and all the walls are wonky. This is genuine, traditional east Devon accommodation. The owners have been working hard during lockdown because everywhere has been freshly painted and our room had a new electric shower and extractor fan.
For a B&B to be highly rated, the breakfast has to be good. The ones we had were excellent - fresh strawberries, yoghurt and cereal were waiting for us and the English breakfast was cooked to order.
Only one regret - we couldn't fit in time for one of the legendary cream teas! Perhaps next time.
Nice, comfy Guesthouse

Not complaints whatsoever.
Only stayed for one night, with a friend. Our twin room was clean and comfortable with a small but adequate ensuite.
The host was very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. A MUST, if you're staying here, is the cream tea
Quaint, welcoming and comfortable

We did not want a chain hotel so this was ideal for the location we needed, for a visit to Sidmouth beach, the donkey sanctuary and for Westpoint. Host welcoming, understanding about us needing an early start and early breakfast required, fresh towels even for a 2 night stay, top ups of tea, coffee, UHT milk (if you do not like the taste) I am sure if you asked for fresh milk it would not be a problem.Hairdryer, TV, excellent wifi, small wardrobe with hangers you could get off the rail! Comfy bed, slept like a log despite the room being at the front with secondary glazing (listed building).Great shower. We worked out the safer back exit from the parking area as we tried the front onto the busy road once! Maybe instructions or a notice would help.Gardens and roses are lovely. Hot yummy breakfast offered a vegetarian choice. Delightful dining area and art for sale , we treated ourself to a framed picture.Masks worn and social distancing adhered to.

We had been told about this place from a friend and it certainly didn’t disappoint. We had a cream tea and it was lovely, lots of cream and lots of jam.
I would highly recommend this as a must stop place.

Really lovely guest house close to Sidmouth and Devon's beach resorts. Nice room, amazing breakfast and owner was really hospitable. Can highly recommend for a short stay. Local pub nearby, they do afternoon tea also
