Wonderful staff and a cool hotel

I am so sorry i didn’t get names, but the front desk agent working the evening shift on September 1st was awesome! There was another agent there when we checked in and she was great too. They were super helpful and friendly. The hotel was very clean with possibly the coolest elevator I’ve been in.
Overall a nice stay

We stayed at the Franklin for several nights in July. The location is outstanding and the rooms, while very small, are cozy, decorated nicely and the bedding is very comfortable. We appreciated using the Beekman 1802 toiletry items and the shower had good water pressure. I’m glad we only brought carry-on bags as there was very little room to store our bags without tripping over them. We had some trouble with the AC in our first room (it kept turning off) and were moved to another room after this happened several times. I see from the below reviews that other guests mentioned enjoying complimentary coffee specialty drinks and cold water. While we went in and out of the hotel several times during each day, we were offered bottles of water only once during our entire three day stay. On one occasion, the desk agent offered water bottles to other guests in the lobby, but she did not offer any to us even though we were standing two feet away and I was too embarrassed to ask; so, you may want to inquire about this benefit. There was a very nice Starbucks and a Whole Foods store located at the end of the block. For those who have accessibility issues, the front entrance has several steps that must be climbed in order to enter the hotel and the front desk agent declined to call us a taxi when we were leaving and asked for her help. Despite these blips, I think we would stay again, but they detracted from an otherwise very nice if somewhat expensive stay.
So good I had to come back!

Was so impressed with The Franklin the first time around last year that on my latest trip to NYC, staying there again was a no-brainer. The room was just as immaculate and clean as last time, and staff was super friendly and welcoming. Dropped off my car in the beautiful parking garage immediately next door (I've never described a garage as "beautiful" before), and was up in my private oasis within 5 minutes. After unwinding on the plush king bed for an hour or so, it was off to a great restaurant in the theater district for some dinner plans with friends, which took all of 10-15 minutes to get to via subway. All in all, another fantastic stay! Can't recommend The Franklin more.
This hotel is a gem!

An easy walk to the Metropolitan, the Guggenheim, the Cooper Hewitt, and the Neue Gallerie, the location of this beautifully renovated converted brownstone hotel was perfect! Our corner room was small and the bathroom was, well, hardly roomy, but amenities perfect, bed and pillows fine quality, and staff extraordinarily welcoming. Neighborhood full of eateries, shops, and interesting stuff. Will definitely return soon!
Friendly and accommoodating

This is a lovely little hotel, the bed was excellent, the room was impeccably clean, and it is pretty to boot - all that is wonderful, but what really stood out was that every single staff member we encountered was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. If we have occasion to stay in the area again, this is our stop!
