Mini staycation
Great hotel, great room for the price, clean and comfortable. Only downfall(s )no coffee maker in the rooms, and no continental breakfast as advertised on the site,(unavailable due to Covid), friendly helpful staff, definately will stay again if in the area.
Great location
Only issue we had was the smell of the room, room 117. Kinda smelled like musty/urine, not sure if it was the carpet or maybe the AC unit. Whatever it was it irritated my nose and throat bad enough we got up early to leave. No breakfast due to covid, but the next place we stayed had it...??? Bed was comfortable, beautiful entry way. If it wasn't for the smell this would have been a perfect stay
Nice Stay Passing Through
We have driven from PEI to US places many times over 40+ years. Timing usually meant reaching Bangor or St Stephen the first night. This week we couldn't leave PEI until 4 PM and booked into Granite Town Inn. It was an EXCELLENT choice for our drive thru overnight. This is not a 5 Star property but as a 3.5 star graded facility, they offer excellent surroundings and service within their category. Bed: fine. Room: spacious with fridge and microwave, TWO upholstered chairs and a table and desk chair. Breakfast: Continental Plus with boiled eggs and yogurt for protein along with a variety of breads, bagels and Eng. muffins to toast, cream cheese, jams and p. butter. Off season price was low and very welcome. IMPORTANT NOTE: ALWAYS call directly and ask for best rate. When small properties are forced to list on 3rd party sites, they give up 20% to 30% plus a service fee to the listing sites. SO, as an example, IF a room is $100 at the property, they list with a site at 20% off, so $80 and then due to fees, they receive even less so, only $70 or so from the website. YOU might get a rate of $85 or $80 but they get $70 If asked, especially off season (but always ask) They would often offer a 10% or 15% discount so YOU get a break and they get a fair room rate. The Trivagos and Expedias of the world result in crunched rates to the operator and the profit goes to the listing site, not who makes the bed, cleans the toilet and serves the breakfast.
Great place for a night’s stopover
As two couples we were passing through. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Breakfast better than expected. Great pub just down the road for fish and chip dinner (pub on main) Town is nice to walk round in the evening. Staff were very fruendly
Pleasant Surprise
Stopped here on escape from Hurricane Dorian in Nova Scotia. Arrived at night to a spacious suite with kitchen, dining, spa tub, and super comfy king-sized bed. The mattress seemed quite soft, but it was super comfortable and not saggy-soft. Wish we had been able to stay long enough to enjoy all the room had to offer. Good breakfast and pleasant dining room.
