More about the hotel
Room with the tub. Underwhelming and a little "unclean"
Booked the king room with the tub in it for a nice romantic stay for our anniversary. Very few hotels in OKC have the big tubs in the room sadly but this one looked nice from the website so I made a point to book it. First off I'm not sure if it's just in a response to COVID and having less to clean, but the room was very...underwhelming. The bed comfortable, the tub spacious (but not huge) but everything was very....sparce. Upon arrival we had to be buzzed in the front door despite it only being about 8pm on a Saturday which was surprising. The check in staff....I wouldn't say friendly but certainly not rude. They were 'present' and we were checked in quickly. The overall cleanliness of the room was questionable though. Other than a stray hair (that wasn't ours) on the pillow the bed was clean and comfortable so a lot of this we didn't notice until the morning. The tub faucet has grimey, the caulk in the shower badly discolored (come on guys. Pull it out and re-caulk it during this downtime). The light switches were overly greasy and at 6am Sunday morning the alarm clock went off and had to be unplugged. The toilet bowl had NOT been cleaned as the white porcelin below the water line was very much NOT white (if you know what I mean). It was cleaner after we left and all we did was flush it so it certainly wasn't a stained bowl. I know it's a pandemic and we guests are going to be super sensitive about cleanliness...but this one missed the mark even if a pandemic wasn't ongoing. With it being $200+ for the one night I'd have expected the room to have been cleaned better before we arrived as we booked many days prior.
Do NOT book a hotel room here!
Do not book a room here as they may not actually give you a room once you arrive, The general manager is a total scam artist that pre-charged us for our room and then didn't have a room available for us when we showed up and rudely told us we were just out of luck. This, despite the fact that we had a reservation confirmation number that was booked directly from the hotel itself and not even from a third party site. Completely unprofessional and totally fraudulent. If you don't want to show up at a location and then have to find a completely new hotel for your family to stay at, after you've already arrived, then book your hotel room ANYwhere else in the OKC metro and avoid the dishonestly and rudeness of this manager and unwelcoming and unhelpful hotel staff. Totally unbelievable.
Not so great
With all the COVID-19 going on, I thought the cleaning would be increased. It wasn't. It went down terribly. It's not as tho the motel was full, it wasn't. Just saw a lot of cleaning in the lobby. Which was fine. But you need to clean the rooms also. We stayed for 3 nights and never once did the bathrooms get cleaned. No one vacuumed the rooms, didn't even make the beds. All that was done was the trash was emptied. When I went to get ice, the doors were shut and no sanitizer anywhere around. I have stayed at this location before, but won't stay again.
Nice staff no hot water
I stayed for 2 nights and have frequently stayed at this location. For whatever reason they had no hot water 2 days in a row. SKIP this location until they fix the management problems there. I let them know after day 1 about the hot water and day 2 was worse. Nothing else hate more than a cold shower and it’s worse when you have to shave your face with cold water....
Be Prepared to be Disappointed
The parking lot has really deep holes that haven’t been patched since last time I was here. (May 2019). As you check in, there is absolutely no acknowledgement of you as a Marriott valued guest. When I politely asked if there was water or a $10 coupon for food or beverages, I was told that the front desk person didn’t really have all of the tiers memorized and couldn’t remember. So I asked again, “Is this a no?” She finally said that my request was denied. So - no water, or even a breakfast coffee. The rooms are older and in serious need of renovation. They keep the AC on so that you won’t smell the mold. It is surprising that they keep their Marriott name.
