I took a college hockey team here a few weekends ago for an overnight stay. Usually it's an absolute nightmare, but the hotel was unbelievable! They had great amenities but the thing that stood out to me was the staff. They were INCREDIBLY accommodating and helped out with everything we needed during our stay. It can be a huge pain to travel in a group but they were incredibly efficient and friendly. I would return here either with a group or for personal travel any day. Good location, clean, and the friendliest staff!
Excellent Stay and Amazing Service
I loved so many things about my stay. From time I checked in, to the time I checked out - every employee with whom I interacted left a positive impression on me. Samantha at the front desk, Olga in the restaurant, and Juan in housekeeping / engineering were all delightful. The hotel was very clean, and my family's experience in the restaurant during the two mornings we ate breakfast was great. The buffet breakfast was hot and delicious, and best of all, at a price that left a big smile on my face! :-) We were in town visiting museums in nearby Warwick, NY... and this hotel proved to be the perfect place for our getaway... and it will be the only place we stay for future visits!
Beware of usb sockets
Stayed here for a class reunion last month and was afforded an early check in at 1 pm on Friday. On Friday night I plugged my two year old iPhone 8 into the usb socket on the desk in the room. On Saturday morning my phone was completely dead. The battery was toast and I had to have it replaced at a cost of $60 later that day. The WiFi was slow with dsl speeds. On Friday night a group of us gathered in the bar for a pre reunion meeting. The woman who was tending bar was also serving people in the restaurant and also delivering room service, so service was very slow. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. If it wasn’t for the issue with the faulty usb socket I could recommend this hotel.
Some good some bad
Stayed one night while visiting friends for their anniversary party. Room was good, but the bathroom was small with very little counter space. Free coffee is available 24 hours but it’s difficult to find and at 9 am, the regular coffee was gone. Had the decaf which was awful. Walls are paper thin. I could hear everything the guests in the room next door were saying. Staff was okay, except for the bartender who was great. A group of us from the anniversary party met at the HI lounge, the bartender did a very good job of keeping the drinks coming and was very friendly.
Depends on what your used to.
I have stayed at this hotel numerous times this summer. Some employees need to be retrained. I am a spire member with IHG. It seems to mean nothing here. I was entitled to points and one stay the manager told me i wouldnt get any because my agent paid for my stay. He always does when i travel for work and as ihg says ...it doesnt matter who pays. I am the member. This trip the front desk person argued with my about 500 points i was entitled to for welcome points. Are you kidding? This point issue coupled with the fact that previous bathrooms i was in had sewer crud in my bathtub....2 sinks that were broken and the rudeness of 2 employees make this hotel last on my list. BAD BUSINESS. I HAD RES FOR 20 ROOMS FOR MY CREW WHICH I CANCELLED. I DONT THINK THE OWNER KNOWS WHATS GOING ON. I THINK HE NEEDS NEW MANAGEMENT. I HAD A COLD... NO SOUP IN THE KITCHEN. ANOTHER GUEST TOLD ME THEY HAD NO ICE TEA. WOW. LOOKS LIKE THEY DONT CARE ABOUT REPEAT GUESTS.ON A POSITIVE NOTE ONE FRONT DESK GIRL...SAMANTHA DOES HER JOB VERY WELL. AND Paul in maintenance is great. Other than that ...they should be fired. What a shame. Its a huge property which has tremendous potential. I believe the GM doesnt care. Just my opinion and experience.
