So happy to be back!

Reviewed 6 december, 2021

We missed our yearly vacation last year due to the pandemic and were so happy we decided to go this year. Navigating through Covid protocol was challenging but not impossible. We have already booked for next year and are bringing 2 other couples with us! We have been going to the Divi yearly since 2006 and would never stay anywhere else. We have always had excellent service by everyone who works at the resort. Please ignore the bad reviews, we have never experienced any staff being rude or unhelpful, I guarantee if you go once you will be a repeat visitor. Every November we see the same people year after year and that doesn’t happen if rude people are on staff! The staff could not be more helpful, our housekeeper was attentive, waitstaff great as usual. We had a perfect weather week and the beach was beautiful as usual. Downtown and the area by the high rises we quieter than normal and some of the stores are closed due to the pandemic but otherwise it’s still the best place to vacation!

This was the worst ever hotel we have ever visited. the room laterally smell like filt couldn't figure out where it was coming for .the power plugs uncovered, the sink backs up and the bed squeaks without even moving in it. the bar tenders rude as hell but the biggest disappointment was the food.... totally garbage!!!! one night I ordered grouper I was served swai fish, I mention it to the waiter and he just said I don't know .salty, dried and over cook meals serve in the restaurants . it was a totally waste of money... the only saving grace was the beach...

Worst experience - Stay clear of this resort

Reviewed 27 october, 2021

We have been to Aruba several times and have mostly stayed in the high rise section. This time we though to try somewhere new and boy do we regret it. When we arrived to our room there was an overwhelming smell of mold coming from the air conditioner. We tried to see past it as we knew the island can be humid so we got on our suits and headed to the beach. The palapas were small and squished together. You were only allowed one towel per person each day. The water was lovely but there was a large bed of coral and rocks which made it terrible to walk into and out of the ocean unless you had water shoes. When we returned back to the room, we went to shower and realized we had no hot water. That was the last straw. We went to the concierge to ask for another room and he was extremely rude, did not offer an apology nor offer to come to our room to see about the issues. He got on the phone, laughing and exchanging jokes about “annoying visitors”. He hung up and said that the manager was on the way and he “wasn’t dealing with this”. The manager took us to another room a floor above our room and we asked her to check the water-again no hot water. She tried to say that in Aruba the water is not as hot as back at home. That was when I informed her that we have stayed in other hotels without this issue so she paged the maintenance manager. The Maintenance manager finally came to trial room #3 and confirmed that there was an issue with the boiler for that line of rooms. I explained to both managers that we did not want an upgrade we simply wanted a room that didn’t smell and had hot water. They ended up giving us an “ocean view” room (although you have to see through trees and the casitas in front of our building in order to see any ocean). She finally apologized and then proceeded to mentioned that I would normally need to pay for this upgrade but all things considered they would come the upgrade, as if they were doing me a favor for finding a room with hot water and didn’t smell. This is not the customer service/hospitality anyone deserves when visiting a hotel/resort. Whenever we interacted with the concierge, they were often on their phones and seemed annoyed that we interrupted their Instagram session to ask for dinner reservations or help coordinate our ride back to the airport. The restaurants onsite which required reservations were filled each night, yet the restaurants themselves were empty whenever we walked by. The alternative option-dinner buffet made us sick. We have never had this poor of an experience in Aruba. Stay clear.

Amazing honeymoon destination

Reviewed 24 october, 2021

My husband and I loved the Divi All-Inclusive resort! When we postponed our honeymoon from October 2020, they were totally fine with that. They were great with my last name being changed and assured me that was all fine. Fast forward to being there, everything was amazing. We felt safe. The water was safe to drink. The food was great. All staff we came into contact with were so kind and helpful. They made booking excursions, covid tests, dinner reservations, and our shuttle bus ride to the airport so easy. Our room was nice, nothing too fancy, but that was fine for us! Our shower leaked no matter what, but we always had new towels to dry it up. The beach was steps from our room. We loved the easy access to the Tam as well. There were hand sanitizer stations everywhere, which was nice. We appreciated the water bottles we were given when we checked in along with the tote bag, and love that there were water bottle stations and ice machines throughout the resort. We can’t wait to come back with our family!

Perfect place to celebrate 35 years together!!

Reviewed 3 october, 2021

My husband and I stayed at the Divi All-inclusive for our 35th Anniversary. This was our 5th visit to Aruba. We were supposed to go last September, but canceled due to Covid. Although not much has changed for September 2021, we went anyway and had the most amazing time! Everything from our room to the beach and food was fantastic! We love this resort better than any other in Aruba. I hope to come back every September.
