Downgraded Veteran
I made and confirmed an initial reservation for the executive suite, when travel plans changed i needed an extra night. The hotel refused to give me the executive suite as originally booked and placed me in another room. When I confirmed the day I was to arrive I was told my reservations were good, however when I. Checked in they had changed my room down from a double queen to a single with a pull out. So not only were my original reservations completely disregarded i was downgraded not once but twice. I was able to get the two queen room back as it was still available. Traveling as a service connected veteran and a club member - both of which they were made aware I am appalled at their black of respect and service. Attached is the room key with the second of my two reserved rooms with the original room crossed out and the pull out as a second bed instead. I actually called the front desk as soon as I entered the room and ask about my original reservation and was told the pull out was my second queen. We all know this is not true. Notice to all travelers especially Veterans - Holliday Inn has no respect for you. Stay somewhere else.
New and Convenient to Interstate
New property located just off the interstate. So a very clean, comfortable spacious room. However a desk was missing and our toddler knocked his head on low hanging sconce that would be over the desk. We requested a room on the top floor away from the highway and the front dest was very helpful and able to accommodate our request. Overall, pleased with our stay.
Didn’t like it
There was a heavy industrial cleaning solution odor that permeated the room(s). After I complained about the smell, ultra soft bed, and inability to connect to wi-fi, a very nice front desk clerk moved and upgraded me to an executive suite on the main floor. It had the same stink and lousy soft bed and nothing much different. I complained about the noise on the interstate side, but she put be in the same side in the first floor. There is no ice machine or vending unless you go up the elevator to the second floor. It is extremely difficult to get to coming from I-80 west. Be prepared to hunt and drive all over to get access to it. Besides the nice lady, the shower was nice and hot. Unimaginative decor and not a very good value. I just didn’t like it.
Great Front Desk Staff!
There are many good things about this hotel, and the standout is the front desk staff - they went out of their way to make my stay at the hotel as comfortable and enjoyable as it could be. All of them were friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and very professional. One of the reasons I became an IHG member and stay at Holiday Inn Expresses when I can is because they employ people like the front desk staff at the Ontario, Oregon Holiday Inn Express.
Better than expected
Traveling cross country and stayed at this location for one night with a pet. Upon arrival on a very hot late afternoon we were checked in quickly and assigned a pet friendly room. The room had a bit of a "pet musk" but not overwhelming as we had experienced earlier in our trip. The room was clean, and air conditioner was very cold (almost a bit too cold despite 90 degrees outside). To our surprise there was a modified breakfast the next morning consisting of pancakes, cinnamon rolls, boiled eggs, fruit, etc... It was served to us and we ate in the room, but this was a treat considering what we have experienced elsewhere. For the price, location, and services this was a big win when scheduling rooms a month earlier than travel, and at such a crazy time. Happy we stayed here!
