Best location for some a relaxing atmosphere!
This hotel I was hesitant to book thinking that the bus anywhere other than Animal Kingdom would be a nightmare. However, what I discovered as a family with 3 young kids that it was the type of hideaway location I was missing from my Disney trips. It just feels so peaceful but also lively in its own way. There’s so much to do and discover, because the activities are wonderful at this hotel. Additionally this hotel has the best food options; their quick serve The Mara is a gem with so many options and interesting ones; Boma their buffet option never disappoints & Jiko their signature restaurant is an absolute dream! If you are looking to get away from the chaos at the end of the day but still experience the magic of Disney this is the place for you. Don’t forget you can walk over or take the internal bus to the Kidani side and use their pool too (from my understanding), we stayed at both this trip so got to experience both sides, loved the Kidani pool but loved the hotel and food better at Jambo House. Only thing I wish was different was their standard rooms or deluxe studios being changed to accommodate families of 5. They were recently renovated and I was so hopeful they would make this change. This is my new favourite hotel and only wish we had discovered it sooner..
NIcely themed hotel
Recently spent a weekend at Animal Kingdom Lodge. The hotel is a fair size. so you may want to consider this when checking in (what room to request). We had a spacious 1 bedroom villa with a view of the pool, just off the lobby. I understand that many rooms are being refurbished, the villa could use a touch up as well, but overall was a great space for our family (with teens). The woodwork throughout the hotel is beautiful but I did find it a bit dark in the lobby. Staff were friendly but at times too busy. I tried to call housekeeping 4-5 times before I could finally get through. They need to up the service with the deluxe hotel prices.
Most special family holiday
Whoa! What can I say about our stay! It blew our precious 2 week stay in Disney’s Yacht and Beach club out of the water! We loved how relaxed the resort was and as always Disney really know how to look after their guests (we had an issue re one of our dinner reservations at Disney springs and Disney were awesome) .. we have visited mostly all of the resorts now for dinner etc and Animal Kingdom is by far our favourite... can’t wait to return
Such an awesome place to stay on property. The Staff were amazing and the resort is gorgeous. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the Savannah view rooms. Rooms are very clean, pool area is spacious and nice. The playground for the kids is wonderful, and it is kind of tucked back behind the pool area, so when the kids watch the nightly movie under the stars, it is not visible from the pool area. Boma restaurant was spectacular!! We will be back.
Stayed three nights. Outstanding and remarkable in every way. And we had time to do night safari, jungle trek, river of light plus other stuff. Saw more animals and species that you could hope to catch up to in a month in Africa. Many of them right from our balcony. Nice facilities, no cot or mosquito nets. Immediate access to a flush toilet, beautiful hot shower and crisp clean sheets. And bonus: no malaria, no encephalitis, leishmaniasis, onchocerciasis, dengue, ebola, black mambas, nasty other critters. No bumpy caravans for days on end, no shaky airlines, no bandits or poachers. A controlled, safe enjoyable safari. Expensive, yes. But one tenth the cost of an adventure on the African continent with one thousandth of the risk.
