Ok hotel for a stay in Oslo
Reviewed 9 August, 2020
The hotel is centrally located in Oslo, about ten minutes walk from the Central Station. The staff was friendly and helpful. I told them that the soap in the shower cabin was empty and that one the doors in that cabin had become loose, and that it was no big deal. The soap dispencer was filled up, the door still loose. No big deal! Clean room, great value for the money.
A vintage budget hotel in a convenient location to all major attractions

The best thing about this hotel is its location. Main attractions like City hall, Vintermarket, Royal palace, Oslofjord, and Arkushus fortress are all located just 10 - 15 minutes walk away.
The room and bath were clean with basic amenities. I would prefer to have some water in the room for drinking as a recommendation.
The hotel staff was very friendly and inspite of me being a bit late to checkout they were very accommodative of my circumstances.
PS: There is a bakery next to this hotel and please do have food there as its just too good. :)

The first impression of the hotel was disappointing to say the least. With a few people standing in the lobby area waiting for service it felt packed.
Walking into the lift felt like stepping into a small metal box for which you have to sign a life insurance contract. Not much space for people and their baggage. Also, you would have to make sure that you're not alone in the lift, the door takes two to tango. Else your stuck inside, hoping for the best.
Walking out of the lift and into the corridor your hopes and dreams sink ever deaper into the black stained faded red and yellow carpets which haven't been cleaned for a few years perhaps?
I kept my fingers crossed as I opened the door to the room, the door key luckily worked and to my surprise there was yet another closed door just behind the first one. It felt like opening a birthday present from your least favoriterite aunt. The room inside was what you would classify as standard for a backpackers couple. There are clip on lamps screwed to the walls, to finish it off the half meter long wire was neatly wrapped in a bundle and simply clipped to the lamp. Must be a retro style attempt but it wasn't working. There is no telephone, so when you decide to complain about the poor standard of the hotel room you need to work up the courage to travel all the way down in the lift once more.
There is no kettle, no hair dryer, one small bedside table which may in fact be a stool... And every single noise that your neighbor makes may be heard through the paper thin walls.
This building urgently needs a renovation.
Better than what I expected (too good for a hostel)
Reviewed 10 November, 2019
It has a perfect location: in city center, few meters away from the main train station & bus station (they are different), no more than 15 mins. walk. There is a tram that stops almost in from of the hostel and goes directly to the stations. The historic museum is walking distance as well. There is a convenience store next door open I think 24 hours and many cheap places to eat around.
It honestly surprised me how big and clean it was. I stayed in a female room (6 beds) and they were really clean, comfortable and theres is a toilette and shower inside. It was quiet, seemed like we were the only ones staying in the whole building. I left really early in the morning so couldn't have my breakfast (very simple according to what I have read). But my stay was very good, I think I could have stayed longer.
