Ideal place for an overnight stay

My partner and I stayed 1 night in a Riverside King room. [+] Attentive staff. [+] Very comfortable bed. [+] Tasteful, well-considered decor in both the room and common areas - vintage chic. Also fits the architecture of the hotel - a repurposed Spanish era heritage home. [+] Great location - wonderful view of the Pagsanjan River with plenty of greenery. [+] Includes a satisfying breakfast dish (I had tapsi; my partner had crispy biya). [-] Not sound-proofed very well. It's easy to hear other people's conversations, even when they're speaking at normal indoor voice.

Finallyfound the best accommodation in Pagsanjan on 3rd visit.

Got invited to a finishing trip in Cavinti so chose Casa Marina B&B to be close to town. PROS: 1. Very quaint and cozy riverside B&B.  The yard and dining area/ lanai overlooking the river makes you just wanna sit down and forget the world while mesmerized by the slow paced river and lush riverbanks. 2. The room (king with river view) was well put together still carrying the rustic filipiniana/mexican theme while having modern comforts of big TV, cold AC and hot shower. 3. Appreciated the warm email from owners R & L welcoming me to their home. On hand personnel Vaneza and Rocel were warm, quick to serve and assisted in any which way they can... Thanks! 4. Pre ordered breakfast was simple but filling. Loved the free flow brewed coffee.  COULD BE IMPROVED: 1. Despite Rocel's effort to fix the TV reception, it remained grainy and blurred intermittently. This is a quick fix which should be looked into. 2. We wanted to hang out at the lanai in the evening after dinner & a stroll around town maybe have a night cap. But there were a group of people (neighbors?) by the river, below the lanai railings who were talking loudly.  It took away the relaxed evening feel so we retired earlier than planned.  Nevertheless, we had a wonderful stay and left recharged. Highly recommended specially after those 2 quick fixes.

Casa marina: a wonderful place made more special by wonderful people

Reviewed 21 september, 2020

Honestly, when i was searching for a place to go and spend my birthday in, i really was not looking for someone like Casa Marina. I was more used to high rise hotels in the middle of a busy area, mainly because i was looking forward to doing so many interesting and new things while on vacation. But the moment we entered the small door of casa marina, we were suddenly brought to a place with a Latin vibe, that is far from the hustle and bustle of the urban life, with a light buzz of relaxing music, sumptuous meal (the adobo is the best), calming view of the lake surrounded by greeneries, mountain from a distance with, we found out later on, embraces lake caliraya, and most especially, wonderful and gracious staff. During our stay in the tourist center of laguna, which is Pagsanjan, we also met several not-so-nice people. However, all of these were wiped out because of our wonderful experience in Casa Marina and its people. The beautiful Casa Marina, with all of its exemptional design and amenities, was made even more beautiful by the its beautiful tres marias: Gel, Vanessa, and Chef Arny. Casa Marina is definitely a place worth staying.

The Perfect B&B for Caliraya360 Run

CASA MARINA BED AND BREAKFAST You will see a sign for this B&B starting from 10KM away. I think we saw a total of 3?? It’s located along the Main Street and is very unassuming. I almost went past it 2x. The main entrance is on the right, beside a dental clinic. They have a parking lot available that can fit about 4 to 6 cars. It has a gate that they lock every night. When you enter, it looks like a house that was converted into a B&B. You’ll see the reception area first. It feels very homey and inviting. As you walk past the reception, you will see a set of stairs on your left that leads to the rooms on the 2F, and a sala/sitting room that has a glass cabinet showcasing different antique things, like old radios, etc. There are books everywhere, ample seating, pictures and it opens up to a sort of courtyard or maybe, garden? Which even has an old water pump that no longer works. You will see another set of stairs on the left which goes up to rooms also. Onwards, you will reach their restaurant that’s open on 2.5 sides. It’s overlooking Pagsanjan River. Imagine having breakfast their everyday. So peaceful. They are currently just serving plated breakfast, which the receptionist will ask you to fill out a form for what time you want to have breakfast and you can choose what you want to have. They offer drinks. From wine to beer, to soda, and they also have a water cooler. The design of the restaurant is really nice as well. I wish they develop a lunch and dinner menu soon. I would love to come back and stay here again. We tried the Lucban Longgnissa (REALLY GOOD!) and the Tapa and tocino (tasted too sweet) and of course, you can never go wrong with bacon 😊 Room: We got a courtyard suite located on the 2F of the main area. It has a window overlooking the courtyard. When we opened the door, we were surprised that it was quite spacious. It had 2 semi-double beds and we ordered for a pull out bed as well. The room rate was about P3,500+ for overnight stay for 2 pax including complimentary breakfast. 4 of us stayed in this room so we paid additional P1,200 for 2 extra pax with complimentary breakfast as well. Amenities: An antique cabinet with a full length mirror with 4 wooden hangers. I42in tv on top of a side table that has 2 drawers. Luggage rack Fire extinguisher Air conditioner that’s very cold. 2 complimentary bottles of water with 2 drinking glasses Beddings: 2 pillows and a design pillow A bed sheet, blanket and comforter. Bathroom: Very spacious They only offer a bar of oatmeal soap, 2 bath towels and a bathroom floor mat so you need to bring all toiletries. They have a toothbrush holder that can hold 4 toothbrushes as well as 2 glasses. They have a bidet! ALWAYS plus points for bidet. (Even the common lavatories have bidets!) They offer a rain shower and have a lot of hooks! I counted 6 (not including the towel bar). The lighting in the bathroom is very lacking though. It doesn’t reach the shower area cause the enclosure is a wall, not glass. The bathroom door knob was not catching properly and feels like it will fall off. The room door knob ACTUALLY fell off 3x 😂 kudos to Alvin who repaired it quickly. All in all, we had a great stay! Everyone was very accommodating and ready to help! It’s a great B&B!
