Cozy country hotel

Reviewed 24 july, 2018

We spent the night here and had a good stay. The room was new and quite big compared to other rooms we stayed in during our trip. We also got a view over the lake. Would definetly stay here again The hotel itself is really pretty and an old building. Breakfast was not buffet but they brought it all to the tables so er had a good meal.

nice and cozy room with all necessities including plenty power sockets, good TV and excellent mattress. Bathroom nice, too and a comfortable shower. Breakfast was very good and service impeccable. Downside breakfast starts at 8 so not ideal for business travelery

Peaceful stay in a small village

Reviewed 6 july, 2014

We enjoyed our evening here-- the house itself is beautiful, and the staff is friendly. We had the junior suite, which was quite large and comfortable, though there is little natural light (just a product of the reed roofs in the area). The shower was one of the best we've had in a hotel, and the breakfast provided was filling and delicious. We had a small, simple (but good) meal in the bistro downstairs. There's not much to do in this small village (we were without a car), but if you're looking for a relaxing place to stay, or a great place within driving distance of larger cities, I'd recommend it.

Beautiful and peaceful near Keil, well worth the trip!

Great welcome, fabulous sleep in v comfy beds, fabulous bed-linen and a breakfast with all sorts of local provenance (breads from local bakery, homemade jams and local honey), juice, meats, cheeses, cooked eggs and fab coffee/teas. All served at your table so you can concentrate on eating and drinking and relaxing! Beautiful surroundings in the hotel and lovely understated (professional but friendly) service - attention to detail is clear and with a focus on space, wood, and quite different public spaces from the little bar through to the large room (where we had an acoustic band and Scottish Ceilidh dance with at least 24 people dancing easily!!)...the lake is a 20m away and the thatch on the hotel gives it a rustic but warming feel! Recommended, if you're in this neck of the woods! (You can get there by bus from Keil in 30 mins). Good value especially considering the beauty of the place, the fittings and even the crockery!! We stayed 2 nights.
