A nice place, but bad restaurant and not eco-friendly

Reviewed 20 june, 2019

At first, it‘s a nice place which is quiet (without the birds and insects) in a beautiful green garden with much water. Also the houses and the Pool is good. But 2 things was very bad: At first the restaurant, breakfast ist good but the dinner is not cooked there. We ordered rice and satay and someone came and brought it with a motorbike. So it was not hot and it was more expansive than in other much better Restaurants. Sorry but that is a „no go“! You have a kitchen there for breakfast (eggs, omlett, pancake) so please use it for dinner as well! The second bad thing is that you write on your website that you are eco friendly but you use so much plastic. Plastic water, cola and so on, why not glas like other Restaurants? And why don‘t you use a drinking straw from bamboo or of metal to use it thousand times? And sugar an tomato Sauce is all in very small plastik, please use bigger ones so it is LEDs waste which comes mostly on Bali from the rivers to the ocean. That‘s a realy realy big big problem on Bali, such a beatiful landscape and unbelievable much of waste along the streets, in the river and in the ocean..!! :-((

Amazing place to relax & chill

Reviewed 19 february, 2019

If you LOVE nature and you're looking for a nice place to relax for a real Balinese feel with friendly staff, look no further! I didn't leave this place for the two nights I stayed there, and I wish I had booked more nights. The room was very spacious and I got a deal for only $22 per night on Expedia; not sure of its normal cost, but either way, this is the best 'budget' resort you will find near Ubud. So worth it to get out of the city for a few days; you don't feel like you're stuck in a tourist trap here. Just a note: this is a jungle, so there are going to be some bugs! You can't totally avoid it, but the mosquito netting around the bed is abundant and definitely serves its purpose. The food served on site is great and cheap. The staff is extremely friendly. They keep a running tab open for you, making it a lot easier for when you check out to pay for everything you ordered at once! The views and sounds are unbeatable. They offer transportation into Ubud for only 120k rupiah, which is a really good deal considering what other places/services cost. The wifi is pretty spotty, but it's strong in the main communal area where they serve breakfast. It worked better on my laptop and iPad than it did on my phone.

Beautiful place, friendly staff

Reviewed 18 april, 2018

Song Broek Jungle Resort is excellent value for money. The place is quiet and excellent for relaxing. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was nice and accompanied by a good chat with the cook. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend the resort. Perhaps the only inconvenience is that it is a 15-20 minute drive from the nearest city, so you mostly depend on the resort staff for transport (no transport services nearby).
