Mountains, rivers and forests make this region an adventurous area worthwhile discovering. The hotel sits on one of the highest points in the area, within walking distance from Filipina Bridge, which was of major importance in the 17th century. This beautiful hotel is in Pedro Gao Pequeno, part of the municipality of Serta, which sits in the central region of Portugal. The hotel enjoys breath-taking views of Cabril Lake and the region's stunning natural beauty. For relaxation, hotel provides besides the outdoor pool, spa and indoor heated pool, the hot tub and sauna, and for the actives one a ...More details

Wonderfull located but.....

We went in the high season, so its normal lots of guests, however it's not normal 1 employee in the breakfast area to all the service!!! Tables, room numbers, food replacement......and there were no artisan bread because the baker comes later on sundays! After I went to the front desk complain two more restaurant staff show up, but one of them had very unpleasant attitude. This is a wonderfull hotel, no questions about, the room, ( despite of the smell due to WC with no window or extractor) was confortable. Pool....... no long chairs for all the guests, and although the Hotel forbides chairs reservations, the lake of education of some Hotel guests is there. The wood chairs by the pool and in the pool bar area, are old, not confortable and some are falling apart. SPA is very simple, there are no resident therapist, and because she works in others places they have to call and the hours are very limited. I saw strange people enter in the hotel ( 3 scouts), and in the pool area since there is no wall or fences I saw people passing through the bushes to see the pool, so there were no privacy. If we come back.......maybe...... but the management needs to improve a lot, there are to many details to be amended.
Very bad in terms of higiene for a 4 Star

We arrived 2hours after the check-in time and the room was still not ready. Then when we got in the duvet had been “ frebrezed” but not changed. We complain and showed them the stains and they changed it. They apologised for the ” mistake “. Then after that I found a 1l water bottle from nestle not sealed and marked as a 1.50€ if consumed. Again we complained and again they apologised for the” mistake “. The glasses in the room are dirty (with lipstick marks).I left it turned up expecting it to be changed the following morning but they where just simply turned upside down like if it was new/ clean. (lipstick mark still there). Floor from room dirty. Curtains very dirty and dusty. Marks of dirt on every wall. Bath curtain very dirty. Just very poor for a 4 star... even for a 3star.... Also, pool is aways unattended. Will not return for sure.
Comfortable stay with amazing views

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night as part of our honeymoon roadtrip around Portugal. We chose it due to it´s colation in mountains. When we came to our hotel room, there were flower petals and swans made out of towels waiting for us in a room. It was nice gesture from the hotel which showed us that they´re really reading coments in reservations and care about their guests. We´re shocked about the size of the bed. It was huge! You can easily lose your partner there. But it was really comfy and we had a nice sleep. Hotel and room looked clean and taken care of. I recommend to take a little walk outside of hotel. There is a little church and outstanding view over the river and water reservoir. It was very nice spot to watch sunset. We had a buffet dinner in hotel restaurant. There was wide wariety of food and it was really tasty. During the dinner there was hotel animator walking amongst the guests and giving them a puzzle to solve. I admit, that it was interesting and we had fun trying to solve it, but I don´t think it was suitable for a dinner in such a hotel. If it was something which would be done maybe in a bar when people are enjoying some drinks and having fun, it´ll be much more suitable. Overall, it was very nice stay and I can recommend this hotel.
Lovely winter visit

I went to the Hotel Da Montanha with family and friends and found the hotel to be very nice. The staff is kind and attentive and the bedrooms look a lot nicer than in the website pictures. Stunning views of the region and the views of the room and restaurant were a real treat. There are a few things I think the management should improve, such as the vegetarian offers at the restaurant for example. The coffee produced by the coffee machine at breakfast was terrible! I paid extra to have a half decent cup of coffee which was nice but at times, with only a member of staff to perform as a barista, would take a long time to be made. I do not understand why in a country with such good quality filtered coffee, the hotel management will choose to serve something so awful included in an otherwise good quality, varied buffet breakfast. I also thought the opening hours of the Spa should be extended during the winter as there is nothing better than a nice sauna or swim after na long day sightseeing. It was disappointing not to be able to use de Spa after 19:30 as I experienced on the dis night. Overall we had a great time and would certainly return and recommend the hotel as also a nice option for a winter break. Would love to return and experience it during the Summer months!
