Great hospitality!

Loved staying overnight in this pretty hotel. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming! Quaint restaurant and pub with a great selection on the menu. The room is very spacious, quality mattresses and comes with toiletries, a fridge plenty of tea and coffee, the biscuits a nice touch. Shower / toilet spotless! All necessary Covid precautions are taken. Enjoyed our stay! Will definitely stay again if in the area!

what a gem!

So glad I stayed at this super little hotel. It is warm, homely and welcoming in that lovely old-fashioned way that the bland more modern hotel chains just don't do. My one-night stay was really comfortable and my en-suite room beautifully clean and nicely furbished. Although I didn't have my evening meal there I did have a super breakfast - wonderfully fresh eggs, perfectly poached. The staff are lovely and the rates very reasonable. If another trip to Peterhead is needed I'll be sure to stay at The Albert again.

We went to have dinner and was taken good care of , served nice beer, while waiting for the food. The food was really good, and the price was very nice. Especially the starters were really good. The environment was relaxing and nice. We will for sure come back. Thank you!!

Friendly and Homely

I stayed here as most Peterhead hotels appear to have increased their prices recently. Not a modern hotel but comfortable, clean, friendly with all you need. I had a one night business stay but would have been happy had it been longer. The food was very good and again homely. I had Beef Casserole with dumplings, mash and neeps and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The cost is very reasonable, I will stay here again when next in Peterhead and can recommend the Albert.

Clean, comfortable.

Difficult to review this hotel. The people running it are wonderfully kind and friendly- which makes my honest review of 2 stars seem harsh. Unfortunately the owners being lovely does not improve the quality of the hotel or the town in which the hotel is situated. People don't go to Peterhead because they want to. This is sad but true I fear. Anyway the hotel. The room I stayed in was lovely. Cosy but en suite with a good shower, clean towels and a generally clean room. The little fridge in the room was a real bonus. The tea and coffee making facilities also very welcome. I ate in the restaurant once. The food was nice but overpriced in my opinion. The decor of the hotel is pretty poor. From the outside it looks rough. Very rough even by peterheads standards. There were seagulls regaling themselves on old bags of chips in the cigarette bin at the entrance when i arrived- not a good look. Inside it looks ominous, in fact this is one of the few hotels I've stayed in where I have seen the cleanliness and decor improve as I went upstairs- usually the opposite occurs. The room however was spotless. Arrived on a Sunday to find the hotel unoccupied and had a sneaking suspicion the place was unoccupied most of the time overnight which was disconcerting. The downstairs put me off eating in the restaurant until I was desperate to not have to eat another wetherspoons meal- a real shame because the hotel restaurant food did not reflect the surroundings at all and was in fact surprisingly good, if as already mentioned overpriced somewhat. (Main meals upwards of £15 is too high for a restaurant that looks old (not quaint) and has a distinct fryer odour). Breakfast was fine, cooked to order- It felt like someone was being paid a wage to come and cook me two eggs because I never saw another sole at breakfast! Overall I think the hotel owner prides themselves on having produced a "boutique" "bijou" hotel in what is a grim town. The little tea sets all over the hotel provide a "theme" and advertised offers of "intoxicating afternoon tea" parties sound fabulous but sadly and not surprisingly for Peterhead it just doesn't deliver. This is a friendly guest house at best. If you're in Peterhead on business and absolutely must stay in the town this place is fine, comfortable, clean and close enough to wetherspoons that you can drown your sorrows relatively cheaply. If you can avoid Peterhead, do it, commute and get a hotel in Aberdeen.
