A great weekend getaway in LA County
We stayed 1 night as a quick weekend getaway and it was great. The staff was very friendly, especially Nicole who checked us both in and out. The room/suite was so spacious and fully furnished with a microwave, min-frig, coffee, big TV's, etc. We had access to the Club Lounge which offered a very complete and attractive breakfast buffet.
I was tricked into some kind of "Advanced booking" online with no other option
I paid $200 dollars for a room I thought I would need for a company event. I called well before 48 hour cancellation policy and the operator agent and then her manager told me I couldn't cancel under their standard policy because I booked online under some kind of advanced booking, which I didn't know because there was no other choices online to book a room. When I was speaking to the agent's manager, which is located at the corporate office, she totally was rude, didn't listen to what I was tell her that it was a mistake about the advanced booking and that the policy is 48 hours and I called well before that to cancel my reservation. She told me you can cancel your reservation but we don't offer you a refund because you accepted the booking. Then when I was telling her well I'm going to dispute this, she said yea yea you told me that alright and just hung up on me. My cancellation number is 64000358, and I went and cancelled it and I'm going to sue the hotel company in small claims court, if my credit card company doesn't charge back the $200 dollars.
Front desk was great. The room was very nice and comfortable. We have been there many times and had the same experience, with the servers, especially in the bar area. This time was the worst, as we were completely ignored one night. The bar servers seem to be more interested in there phones or visiting with one another. We were waiting for a drink order, and the waitress actually seated, took their orders and served her friends before we were even addressed. She had looked over many times and would not even bring us a menu or take our drink order. One night, (this is at 6:00 pm) a server stood at the pick up station, and text on his phone. This was over 10 minutes before he even thought about helping someone. We had 1 decent server and she was trying to help everyone. she had just came off her break, and had to start apologizing, for the other waitress. I wish I would had gotten her name, as she seemed to be the only one that cared. Their food service is not very good in the restaurant either. I would rate this hotel better if the food service was good.
Clare B. (Night Auditor) Rocks!
I checked-in on 10/19/19, there was a large sorority group checking out and several guest for a wedding checking-in. I’ve stayed at Marriott brands my entire life and had family and friends work for both the hotels and corporate office. I’m use to a certain standard and level of service. This particular trip was for pleasure, I usually stay for business. Clare B. (Night Auditor) exuberated Marriott’s Spirit to Serve. She recognized everyone in line while maintaining a high level of customer service to the person in front of her. Clare B. went through the amenities the hotel offered and let each guest know about the farm to table restaurant. She smiled and was engaging, I thought she was a manager. She maintained the same energy when I checked-in to hours later when I saw her again. You need more people like Clare B. who represent the Marriott brand well.
one problem our room the door between bedroom and bath would not close no privacy and the light shines into bedroom the door would hit bed not able to close and THIS is telling me how long it has to be
