Very noisy AC unit inside bedroom, hard to sleep with it.

The room had an AC unit which was installed behind a locked door inside our bedroom. That unit was very much noisy and it was very very hard to sleep at night with it. Someone from hotel’s maintenance came and tried to fix it but there’s really nothing that can be done, it is simply a very much old and noisy AC unit which is unfortunately inside the room and next to where the bed is, as the bedroom is very much small, so you have to sleep with that noise, or sleep with no AC turned on. Either way it’s very much disappointing.
Ten day stay.

The hotel is very clean and you. It is right on the beach. The rooms are smaller than expected especially when there is a kitchen. The balcony has a nice view but it’s very small barely can fit a chair. Pet friendly but not much space for the dogs to go out and do their business. Beach is beautiful. The pool is small and always very busy. The breakfast was mediocre at best. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. There was only one elevator functioning. One day both elevators were not functioning and I was on the eighth floor. A little bit trying.

My family stayed at the Residence Inn (RI) over the Labor Day holiday and we had a wonderful time! Our room was spacious and we loved the large glass windows which provide great views. We made full use of the kitchen, and the washer/dryer helped us cut down on the amount of cloths to pack. The views from this property are incredible and the pool area has an intimate tropical feel. I’m a Marriott member and I checked out the Marriott next door for comparison. I’m so glad I decided on the RI. Aside from larger RI rooms, the views of the ocean from the pool area are far better than the Marriott. The Marriott pool area was bordered by tall shrubs which block your view of the ocean even when standing up. The RI pool area had a nice blend of palm trees and shrubs with great views of the ocean. If you wanted shade on the pool deck at the RI, you’d find it under a beautiful palm tree whereas the Marriott used a bunch of umbrellas. But the best part of our experience was the staff. They were all so friendly and helpful and we got to know many of them by name. Jason, Ashley, Mae, Derrick were a few of the people who made for a memorable experience for my family. We can’t wait to go back!!
Great Relaxing Vacation

We wanted to spend some time in the area after dropping off our daughter at UM. However, with the increasing infection rate of the delta variant, we didn’t want to be in the congested Miami area. This hotel offered the perfect beachside location within an hour from UM. Every aspect of our stay was great. Especially the very spacious room. The view is spectacular including watching the wind suffers and seeing the sun rise every morning. In line with being conscious about the virus, it was quite comforting to see the staff with masks and gloves serving breakfast. We had such a great time; we extended our stay. Also, this is the 1st vacation where we’ve returned with all clean clothes because the room had a washer and dryer. The staff were all cordial. I don’t remember all the names but some I’d like to give a shout out to are Jason, Derrick, May & Darlene (front desk); Joanna (breakfast); Carlos, Yulca & Victor (Valet).
Great Mother's Day Weekend

My family of 2 adults and 3 teens stayed over Mother's Day weekend 2021 and had a great beach getaway. As a Platinum Elite member I was disappointed that my room could not be upgraded to ocean front, however after having a lovely dinner on the pool deck and with the DJ ramping up, I quickly realized maybe they put me towards the back of the building on purpose. LOVED the DJ and activity of the pool area at night. My teens felt like they were in some type of "South Beach" scene. The managers doing Karaoke could get sketch at times! The POOL was awesome for me -- it was SUPER WARM. Very clean. At night, at least over that weekend, maybe 3 people in the pool with me. Such a nice break. We arrived on a Friday evening. Things got more crowded on at the pool, restaurant, and free breakfast on Saturday, but still manageable. Able to rent a beach umbrella set and/or wind cabana. Beach area was not overcrowded, My teens did an exploratory beach walk to the Lighthouse and back while I lounged. Ordered Doordash from Carrabas one night -- that got a little messed up but that's a Doordash problem. Still was nice to have the option of meal deliveries from a range of restaurants. And the on-site restaurant was fine. Lovely outdoor dining area and the music with the DJ once the sun starts going down. Lots of fun. SO, as a fellow Platinum Elite-- in this case, forego your usual demand for "oceanfront" and accept the side ocean view -- which is very expansive (pictures posted) -- and save yourself the noise of the pool party once ready to go to bed. Our room had this very unusual but perfect configuration of a one bedroom king, plus a queen bed PLUs a sofa bed (and 2 bathrooms).. So the three teens had the queen and sofabed (with full bath) while my husband and I could close off the 1 bedroom (with full bath). Much better than the typical king bedroom plus sofabed that doesn't quite do it for the size of our group. Mind you, I booked this room and I called the hotel no less than 3 times to re-affirm the specific room. LOL. Once after booking, once 2 weeks later, and one a day prior to arrival. Because it mattered to the overall success of the trip. They got it right. Definitely would go back. Parking is valet only so just be ready to neatly unload your family once you pull into the property - no fumbling around -- it's a tight and busy area. Have all loose items packed/bagged up and all kids ready to get out of the car. LOL. It's a busy check-in area so you have perhaps less than 5 minutes to unload the car. Also if you have to wait for your room remember this is COVID and better to have a room sanitized completely even if you had to wait. I enjoy the perk of getting late 2pm checkouts as Platinum Elite and yes that does mean that the room may not be use-able for the next guest until well after 4pm -- especially if a suite of multiple beds and 2 bathrooms, PLUS a full kitchen of dishware, fridge, utensils...come on. It all has to be cleaned.
