Nice location but hotel is for budget minded traveler

I stay at courtyards around the US and this would be an average location, however the bath towels are the best of any location I have been to! While the air conditioning units are ok my toilet would occasionally get stuck and the water would run continuously, a simple jiggle of the handle would fix it but an annoying item regardless. Condition of the hotel is fine and the bedding is fine compared to other properties. I would stay here again but there is a marriott across the street that might be worth considering if you don't mind spending a few extra dollars. The staff is amazing! Everyone at the front desk greeted me with a smile and warm hand wave sometimes...always great in being helpful with any requests I had.
Good Location. Friendly staff

This Courtyard is clean, comfortable, and quiet. Although breakfast is not included, the breakfast options are pretty fairly priced and freshly prepared. There is coffee available in our rooms to start the day and there is also a small pantry. We we’re visiting for a grandchild’s graduation and welcomed a reasonably priced accommodation in a very high rate area . For me, a friendly face and excellent service count for a lot. Tracy at the desk and Mario at the Bistro as well as cheerful housekeeping staff all provided that for us. We would define return again.

We had a relaxing 2 days at the hotel. Our daughter had a visit with her future university. It was convenient to Oakland University and several food and pubs close. The rooms are very convenient however, breakfast is purchased on own. I would suggest offering at least free bagels or donuts. The Starbucks was well worth it to enjoy the latte’s
Lovely Hotel, Lovely Service

From the moment I checked in, until the time I checked out, I enjoyed my stay (Shout out to Winnie!). As soon as you enter the automatic double doors, to your right, you'll notice a lounge space with tables and comfy couches and a small Starbucks cafe to round it all out; to your left, you'll see the front desk; and dead ahead is the pool--and workout space just to the left of that.
The lobby was nice and warm when I entered on a cold morning. And staff helped me check in immediately. My room was so cozy and clean (I always do a clean sweep when I enter my hotel rooms-- shaking out the blankets, checking the shower area, drawers, walls, mini fridge, ice bucket, etc), the bed stocked with abundant foam and feather pillows, the couch was clean and inviting (with a body pillow and two decorative pillows of it's own), a nice, large desk (as well as a small end table that paired nicely with the couch), and a lovely picture window that led to a personal balcony with two patio chairs (but no way to access as the sliding door was bolted--which was fine given my winter visit, but also for safety reasons I suppose). The only dirty item I discovered in my room was an iron :( so I was not able to make use of that during my stay. Lovely find: spare fleece blanket and pillow stowed away in the closet!
Gym: Petite. Two treadmills, one elliptical, a weight rack with various weights, yoga ball, towels, *hydration station* (super useful since the water fountains were out of use), separated from the inside pool by a floor-length window, and M/F restrooms just outside. Note: each machine had it's own mini-TV, but there was also a TV mounted on the wall near the weight rack.
Surrounding Area: No shops really within walking distance for winter weather, unless strolls in 20-degree weather is your thing :)- if so, go for it! I'd recommend.
Mold and mildew in bathrooms - yuck
Reviewed 11 October, 2018
Since my last visit, the hotel is already starting to age. The bathtub mold and mildew is surprising for a Courtyard Marriott. This hotel offers an option of no housekeeping for additional points, but it seems as though the bathroom upkeep is suffering as a result.
