Great suite, great location, great service!!

Reviewed 27 december, 2021

We came to Portland for a 2 night get away from Boston. We have been fairly homebound with Covid surging, and felt we could be safe in the hotel and mostly being outside. It worked! We arrived at 2 pm for a 4 pm check-out and they found a suite that was ready for us! The King Bed studio suite is really large and roomy, and had a layout that almost made it feel like there were a few rooms. Everything looks like it was updated fairly recently and the little kitchen was cute to look at and was very functional for us. Everything was exceptionally clean. My usual complaint about hotel beds is that they are too soft, but this one is excellent! Nice and firm and very plush and comfortable. It was very quiet and we slept well! The hotel is well located near the Promenade, Downtown and the Piers. We are walkers and loved how we could go everywhere we wanted in the city by foot. We also found a stairwell that led from the outside up to our 5th floor room. That allowed us to happily avoid the lobby and any gatherings of people. The hot breakfast bar was fine - nothing special - and it was nice we could comfortably eat in our own studio kitchen. My one complaint is that the hotel does not have coffee available once breakfast is over at 9:30am, which is unusual for this type of hotel. I highly recommend staying here and would definitely come back!

Pleasantly surprised

Reviewed 15 november, 2021

I stayed here for one night with my son to attend a college admissions event nearby. The hotel was very clean, the bed and pillows were super comfy, and the included breakfast was better than expected. There is a great work out room and small indoor pool. There is also a firepit and outdoor seating area. I also saw several guests with their dogs, and although we didn't bring our dog for this short trip, it was nice to know we had the option. The location is within walking distance to many restaurants and the waterfront. Each member of the staff we came in contact with was very friendly. I would definitely stay here again. One thing to note - parking is in a public garage next door, currently $24/night.

Excellent Covid Practices, Very Good Breakfast!

Reviewed 22 october, 2021

Super super, clean, spacious, excellent Covid practices, all staff in masks etc. The property looked Newley renovated. Although we arrived after check in, due to “worker shortage” (not the Hotels fault) we had to put our luggage in storage and come back, however for our inconvenience Sara (a total professional and delightful front desk person) upgraded us to a free breakfast- that turned out to be much better than your typical hotel breakfast during Covid- it was excellent- especially the hot waffle makers, and wide selection, super fresh! Parking is not located at the hotel- it’s roughly 2 short blocks away- drop your luggage off first if possible-the main problem is each staff member we spoke to had different instructions about parking and payment, rather confusing process. We also felt the property was not as centrally located as we would have liked, but as long as wether is good the walk was fine. Over all it was a good stay, and we appreciated Sara’s excellent customer service.

$24 a day for Parking without prior notification

Reviewed 21 october, 2021

Front office manager was very rude and unapologetic when I called about the $24 a day fee for parking after I got home and received the final bill! We were never notified of this fee. we asked where we could park and he gave us a ticket with bar code and were told that we could park in the garage next door. No mention of any fees! Totally did not want to apologize and keep hammering on that his staff is trained to mention this fee, WELL, NOT to us! No options were given when asked if there was something he could do. NO customer service!!! Everything else was fine, no housekeeping during 3 night stay.

Great location

Reviewed 30 september, 2021

Here is all the good stuff- location is great in this walkable city, breakfast included is so good, clean rooms, friendly staff is knowledgeable, nice gym, the bar is good, we got to check in early. The other stuff- we were informed about asking for maid service, the pool is not heated. The not so good stuff- construction is everywhere in the area of Portland, across the street means beep, beep, beep and 4:30 am trash collection everyday, no pretty views out our window. FYI-we chose this hotel based on a friends advice. Glad we stayed here because the food in Portland is awesome, tours are informative and folks are Friendly. Put your walking shoes on and come to Portland.
