Amazing vacation
We had the best time at Hard Rock Punta Cana. There were 10 of us and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The check in was very easy and organized. We got to our rooms quickly and out by the pool to start vacation out right. The pools at this resort were really great, the service was exceptional. Especially Raymin and Elvido. They were the best servers we had and day after day we went back to the same pool, strictly because of Raymin and Elvido. The restaurants were amazing and the food was exceptional too. The entire staff at Hard Rock was excellent. We also had massages and they were awesome too! The hotel rooms were extremely clean, and all the staff did a great job with covid precautions. The testing done at the hard rock to be able to come back into the US was seamless and very easy and organized. We will def come back to Hard Rock Punta Cana!
Nothing but HIGH-PRESSURE sales, dirty room, and did I mention HIGH-PRESSURE sales???
Not worth it. The room was not clean. The hot tub was disgusting. The breakfast was no better than a 3-star US travel motel. Some of the dinners were good. The beaches were pristine and almost free from harassment of gift purchases. Here is what set me off, we unplugged the phone in the room to stop the unwanted sales calls. Someone came in and plugged the phone back in. Within minutes someone called us to go to the concierge to make our dinner reservations. Once we arrived, the woman told us our package included a spa discount and a free excursion. Not once did she tell us that we would have to suffer through some two-hour tour of crappy condos. What kind of fool would buy one of these and be locked into a tourist jail for life. Driving by them, there were many for sale signs from poor souls that were conned. Anyway, when we arrived for our excursion, in swimsuits, towels, and ready for the sun, that is when some fast-talking, EXTREMELY high-pressure sales guy pissed me off. He sat down from us while we were eating, and before he could finish his pre-recorded sales pitch, I sent him away. Multiple people tried to convince me to stay; it was like walking through a kennel with starving cats. It was AWFUL. We ran out of there; my mood and my day were ruined. Then I paid for a horse excursion, about 30 minutes on a horse, and 2 hours of high-pressure photo and gift sales, worse than a collection agency. Everything at the Hard Rock Hotel was dated, unglamorous, broken, or an upsell. I would avoid it at all costs. We left, and moved to a beach-side Air BnB and had a wonderful time.
Vacation FUN!
My husband and I just returned from a one week stay at the awesome Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Punta Cana! Many people voice concerns with traveling during the Pandemic. We felt very safe and greatly appreciated all the efforts the hotel staff went to in keeping us safe! They have extra staff cleaning constantly and all staff wear mask. The property is huge and for this reason, they have golf carts to help take people around. They require everyone to wear mask. In the main lobby mask must be worn. At restaurants they check temperature and require hand sanitizer to enter. Again, they did a great job of making us feel safe. The staff were so accommodating!! Food and drinks were amazing! Thank you to the manager, Victor, at Isla Restaurant, for our special invite and taking care of us. The wait staff were great! I highly recommend the short ribs! WOW is all I can say! Los Gallegos was also one of our favorite restaurants! They had delicious pork tacos and a great breakfast menu! Thank you Jesus for the great service! We loved the adult only pool and VIP pool! The bartenders made awesome drinks! Thank you Nestor for the INCREDIBLE service! He was by our side all day with food and drinks! He even served drinks in the pool as seen in the photos!🏄🏿♂️🍹🍹🍹🍹 Now that’s FUN service! Adrian and Ana were great too! One night we wanted Espresso Martinis. Thanks to Richard at the Bowling Bar for going to another part of the hotel to get the espresso! He went above and beyond!! 🍸🍸💕 We chose these pools and late night dinners since we didn’t have kids with us. The spa was gorgeous! There were some areas closed for safety with the pandemic but still plenty of areas open for relaxation. The hot stone massage was my favorite! I made a few trips to the spa! Clean and safe! We had the BEST butler on property! Thank you Yafreisi Peguero!!! She took care of everything for us day and night from pool chairs, Bali bed, dinner reservations, transport confirmation and the easiest check out ever! The hotel is under renovations and I can’t imagine what the updated rooms will be like. We received a call every day asking if everything was good. Great service and AMAZING week!
Worst resort I’ve stayed in
This resort was the worst I’ve ever been to. It was very outdated, the entrance to the resort looks outdated and doesn’t inspire you to take photos. The elevator didn’t work for 3 consecutive days. My room wasn’t cleaned properly. How am I in DR and there’s no fried cheese with the mangu or fried plantains or just AVOCADO during avocado season? These foods are basic cultural Dominican food! I expected to visit DR and embrace the culture but instead it was very Americanized. They have a “Mexican” restaurant and didn’t even have tacos, burritos, chips, or guacamole; instead, it was just steak with Mac and cheese or mash... why is it a Mexican restaurant then? I ate at their Habichi restaurant and saw water dripping on my plate of food! I was told by the waiter that the ceiling leaks when it rains, reason it was leaking on my plate. My family had so many complaints that I can’t even think of them all. This resort disappointed me so much that it hasn’t left my mind, reason I told myself that I must leave this review because I can’t let it go even tho months has past and I’ve traveled 3x since then. Let me NOT leave out that they were trying to force us to accept a time share and even commented that if we upgraded our wrist bands, the hotel will treat us “different and better”. Why do we have to have a different band to be treated better? I can go on and on and on about the horrible 5 nights worth of money we spent at this resort which left me with nothing but a bad memory and never wanting to visit PuntaCana or a HardRock hotel again. Actually, our entire group felt the same way I do.
Room flooding
House keeping was poor, never leaving coffee, or fresh towels, unless calling and asking. We stayed 10 days. One night there was a constant dripping all night long. It was from the floor above. I took a picture of the ceiling and called the front desk, THEY LAUGHED AT ME! Two minutes later the ceiling started exploding above our jacuzzi tub. Water everywhere. We left thinking it would be fixed, but instead we were locked out! My husband is a diabetic and we had no access to his medication. Very dangerous.!
