THE LAST OF THE THREE ON THIS TRIP
I stayed in three RED ROOF INNs on my trip back from Florida this week and this one ranked as the "LEAST impressive" of the three. It was OK....but it needs to be maintained a bit better if it is going to keep up the RED ROOF STANDARD, About ten years ago the chain went through a re-design to present rooms which are attractive to the clientele as well as easier to maintain. Check-in was polite and efficient although it SHOULD have been explained to me that there was a thermostat on the wall controlling the room temperature rather than actually on the HVAC unit as in most of the other motels I have stayed at over the years. Also after checking into the room and inspecting it there was a very noticeable stale cigarette odour in the shower room. This was absorbed into the wall paint and the shower curtains. As this was supposed to be a NON-SMOKING room somebody has CONTINUOUSLY used that room to smoke because it has an active fan. HOW DOES HOUSEKEEPING NOT SMELL THAT????? The flooring and grouting along the tub has deteriorated significantly as well. There are absolutely no connections available for computers or phone charging and anything that looked like a connection on a lamp base was filled with dirt and the cord had been cut. If you need to charge your cellphones you will need a wall adapter. When looking in the coffee machine on the bathroom counter there was an old used dried-up bag still there. I would NEVER use one of those machines anyway but HOUSEKEEPING obviously thinks nobody does either. Don't they count the supplies on the counter they provide? I left before breakfast so I cannot comment on that. It is sad that the owners are not maintaining the standards which RED ROOF INNs has tried to maintain to keep a foothold in the hospitality market. These owners might want to do a bit of clean-up and modernize the electronics for sure.
Affordable, Clean Motel and friendly, accomodating desk clerk
Requested and received room with 2 beds. Requested quiet location and they recommended 2nd floor. Looked out the back side of hotel. Arrived early and was able to check in. Only noise was young guests coming upstairs late night. Comfortable beds. Wifi good. Nice shower. Good coffee in lobby. Frig in room and microwave. Everything as expected in a room priced below $100.! Would come here again.
Clean spacious room and amazing staff!
We stayed two nights and were very pleased! Friendly staff went above and beyond our expectations and treated us very well. The Room was big, clean and comfortable! The free coffee and local breakfast pastries were amazing! Would recommend this location 100 percent!
Great stay, as always. Facilities and staff are first class and well located. On main road to Lake George activities locations. Several good restaurants within walking distance. Great breakfast restaurant with bakery very close by.
Above and Beyond service
We decided to do an impromptu overnight stay for the day of our 34th anniversary. When I called, the person who answered the phone informed me that his name was Mike and wanted to know if he could call me back in five minutes. I gave him my phone number thinking that there was no way he would be calling me back, that instead I would be calling him back. I was wrong he called me back and helped me straighten out our reservation that I had messed up when I made it online. He was extremely helpful and professional. He was able to get me that kind of room I was requesting. Upon arrival I addressed him as Mike and he addressed me as Tammy. He had a warm smile on his face as well. Check in was quick and easy, the room was clean and very comfy. There was a microwave, coffee/maker and a refrigerator twice as big as the dorm size. Mike was very informative and pleasant. There was a car show that weekend and Mike had given us a room facing the road so that we could see the cars going by without leaving our room. As we left later for our anniversary dinner both Mike and another employee wished us a happy anniversary. Through out our stay Mike asked several times if we needed anything and if he could do anything for us. He definitely went way way above and beyond with the service you would expect to receive. The coffee down at the office area was hot and the danishes were fresh. We plan on staying again in six weeks when we are in the neighborhood again.
