The Truth About La Granja
Avaliou em 5 de julho de 2021
Was here shooting a film so they gave me the smallest room possible overlooking the pool (which was undergoing maintenance) - It's a nice room - the AC worked well - nice hot water in the shower - no fridge - close to everything within walking distance - Here's the problem... there's nothing necessarily WRONG with the place, but its just NOT a 5 star hotel. Others on the film were staying at the nearby Matian (3.5 stars) which IMO blew this hotel away. Amazing service, great food, a fantastic wince cellar and better rooms. I will say, the second I left the room, it was cleaned. The bed was comfy and the linens 1st class. One thing to be aware of... the church bells go off at 6am and they tend to ring 60+ times! I'm not joking. The food around town is fantastic but try and avoid food around the square as its a bit "touristy" (and by touristy, it's local tourists). As a "gringo" I was treated fairly well by everyone but know that it's not a destination for most Americans so there's not a lot of English spoken.
Good location but pricey

If you want to be close to the square, this is a good choice. Service on checkin was excellent but for the fact that Google maps took us to the wrong place. If you have a car, you need to call the hotel a few minutes before so they open the gate into the parking lot. Room was large and clean and the air conditioner worked well. The coffee maker malfunctioned but you don’t want to drink that coffee anyway. They will will bring coffee from to the room for a reasonable price. By Tequis standards, the hotel is pricey. To be fair, not all services were available because the town was mostly closed when we were there due to COVID. We intend to try again once the pandemic subsides to the point that city is fully opened again.
Very Nice, Clean, Centrally-located Hotel with Friendly Staff

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend of wine tasting and vineyard exploring. The hotel is very centrally located a short walk from the heart of Tequisquiapan. It has a sparking clean pool, a nice hot jacuzzi you can reserve by the hour in advance, and safe, secure parking. Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive and our room was immaculate. The windows have mosquito screens so no worry about pesky critters biting you at night, and the room also had a nice big air conditioner, though we didn't need it this time of year. The bed was super comfortable (we had the king junior suite on the second floor) and the water pressure was strong and hot! I wish I had a shower like that at home. So why only 4 stars? Well, there were some things that we found deficient. For starters, there was no fridge of any kind in the room. Being in the heart of wine country, it would seem logical to have a mini fridge for purchases or for your own personal beverages. Which brings me to the next point - in the heart of wine country, the room lacked any sort of glassware (other than the bathroom glasses) and you have to RENT a corkscrew if you want one, and it's 120 pesos! You can also "rent" the wine glasses from the restaurant as well. We found this really inappropriate, and we were able to buy a corkscrew for 40 pesos at a tienda down the street. We had so many free wine glasses from our many tours that we just rinsed those out and used those. I can understand the concern - maybe they are worried about stains on the bedding, but that's something that can be cleaned and charged to the guest if it happens. I will say that they can bring you drinks to the pool and jacuzzi, and they were reasonably priced (90 pesos for a mojito and they were STRONG and authentic), but we didn't try the food from the restaurant. SO overall, we were pleased with our stay - just a little annoyed by some small things that we think should be included in a hotel in this region. The room was so huge they DEFINITELY had the space for a mini-fridge and microwave (also not included in the room) if they wanted to add them. Still, overall I would recommend this hotel - just bring a corkscrew and your own wine glasses.
A small beautiful hotel one block from the main square

I and my wife attended a wedding in Tequisquiapan and stayed with several couples at Hotel Boutique La Granja. The hotel is very well located, only one block from the main square which makes it very convenient. The hotel has nice gardens and fountains, a large terrace, open corridors filled with flower pots and a medium sized pool and jacuzzi, and a living room with piano. The rooms are not large, but nice, well illuminated, very clean and well equiped with TV, WiFi and a safebox. The restaurant is excellent, we had breakfast there twice and both food and service were very good. Reservations were handled very well and the staff was truly friendly and very service oriented. Overall we found the hotel very good and will certainly go back tere in our next trip to Tequisquiapan.

This property is located in downtown Tequisquiapan. The property makes you feel that you are in your own Hacienda. Staff is great, friendly and knowledgeable. Food was excellent. Perfect place to relax
