Amazing gym in Rawai with the best yoga classes!
Opinión escrita el 26 de Julio de 2020
I found this gym as I was looking for yoga in Rawai. To my surprise I stumbled on this incredible gym! The hot vinyasa classes were the best yoga classes I have taken in ages...and the best I have found in thailand. Amazing staff, teachers and fully equipped gym. The cafe does great protein shakes with an amazing infinity pool and sea view. love this place. Stayed longer in rawai just to come to more classes here :)
So many positive things.....

There are many, many positive things to say about Action Point, that I'm going to start with the one piece of constructive feedback first. That way, we will get it out of the way and can get into the awesome stuff.
When you stay at Action Point, all your meals are chosen for you. The restaurant doesn't have a menu to pick and choose from, the wonderful chef simply cooks meals for you based on what your trainer has advise her to allow you to have. This leads to the one piece of constructive feedback. Because you don't choose your own meals, the meals need to have more variety. While all the food is very well cooked, they all follow a very similar formula. Nearly every lunch and dinner is protein + vegetables or salad. Every breakfast is eggs + veges. While this is great for weight loss, not so great for variety and it's easy to get "food boredom", meaning one is more likely to cheat on the diet.
So now that the only downside is out of the way, lets move on to all the amazing things.
The staff here are fantastic. They take the time to get to know you, are friendly and it's clear they are passionate about helping people live a healthy life. The Personal Trainers all know their stuff and want to work with you to develop long term skills and abilities to support you once you leave.
The Thai Boxing (Muay Thai) trainers they hire from the local gym are great value. They don't speak much English, but they give you one hell of a workout and enjoy reminding you that they are the experts with the occasional soft jab to the stomach when you forget your guard.
Rawai isn't a tourist hot spot for Phuket. It is in the south of Phuket and is around a half hour drive from the main hotspot of Patong. This is both a positive and negative. The positive is you are away from a lot of the distractions that could take you away from your healthy journey. There isn't a Mc Donalds, KFC or Burger King for miles. You just have to be careful of the nearby 7/11. The flip side though is you do need to travel if you want to get away from things and spend some time at the beach or doing tourist activities. Taxi prices in Phuket can be quite high, but I recommend downloading Grab, which is the local Uber equivalent. This way you know before you leave how much you are going to pay.
The view from the restaurant over the water is amazing. It's a brilliant backdrop to breakfast each morning.
The rooms are all very clean and tidy and come with all the mod cons. The air conditioning alone is invaluable in Thailand's heat and humidity. A nice rainfall shower is something you will likely use frequently during the day after sweating it out in the gym, however the water temp can be a bit fiddly.
There are three gyms, one open air gym on the ground floor, which is used primarily for the Thai boxing, group cross fit class and free weights. The gym on the second floor has most of the weight training equipment and the third floor has the cardio equipment. All the gyms have nearly every machine you would need to exercise any part of your body (including several parts you probably didn't know you had until your PT kills it lol).
There is also a Yoga room, which they use most days to do Bikram (hot) Yoga. Outside that time you can use it for your own yoga if you wish. There are also many other yoga classes, including rooftop relaxation yoga and beach recovery. Everything is included in your programme, so you can try anything you like at least once (and I encourage you to do so. You might feel silly trying to hold a simply yoga pose in 45 degree heat, but you will be glad you at least tried).
The infinity pool by the restaurant is a god send to relax in after a hard workout. It isn't big enough for proper swimming, but with its amazing view over the bay it's the perfect place to just float and chill. Not a huge pool, but because of the limited number of people staying it is never crowded.
Some of the cool extras are things like the Sunday hike to Big Buddha and trips to the night markets. These trips are often paid for by the resort (Big Buddha every Sunday is) and are a great way to get out for a few hours and recover some sanity.
Action Point is the perfect place to kick start your weight loss or fitness journey. If you stick to the programme, you are pretty much guaranteed to make significant progress. I was there for two weeks and lost 2.8kgs and 22cms off my frame overall, and I will be the first to admit I wasn't perfect on the diet.
So do yourself a favour. If you want to get yourself healthy, come here for some time and take care of yourself.
Much love to the Action Point crew (Kae, Peanut, Aom, Anthony, Sofia and the girls in the restaurant) for their dedication to healthy living and the passion they show.

I love this place.
If you want the energy and vibe to get into your CrossFit high intensity workouts, then this is the place. The open classes are super friendly, but hard going, you will leave your sessions drenched wet with sweat. I was on the 28 day package with Thai Boxing, Hot Yoga, personal PT trainer, CrossFit, and days out visiting Islands were we snorkeled, and historic sightseeing visits to the Old Town & night markets.
If you want to jump start your fitness from level zero. Or your at peak fitness and are looking for improvement, this place has the experance and hospitality to accommodate you. I'm so happy I'm found this place and can't wait to return. I lost weight, and gained the fitness bug.

Hey Shafique, it was so nice hearing from you, in fact I was going to be reaching out to you to convey my experience. As it pertains to customer service, it was beyond impeccable from everyone affiliated with Action Point. Eric is a world-class trainer who did a great job with me and my injuries. Mel is wonderful and was super helpful in my private sessions and helping me access services off campus. The Hot yoga instructor was wonderful and super knowledgeable.
Sofia’s meals were beautiful, delicious, healthy, and filling. Peanut was is an excellent LPG clinician. Aom is super sweet, pleasant, helpful, and calming. I got an opportunity to workout one on one with Yeng when I attempted to attend her class but I was the only one that showed up for class. She wanted to make sure that I still got a workout and rather simply letting me go back to my room, she made sure I got a physically challenged. Housekeeping was also fabulous and honored every request. When Mel could not take me to the clinic, she arranged for the young man from Miramar in housekeeping to take me. He took me on his bike and refused a tip for gas.
This was a wonderful experience for me and I was sad to leave. I will be returning next summer , hopefully for a month, and I’ll be bringing others with me.
I was not sure about tipping, but I wanted to send something to Eric. How would I do that? And, would it be possible to this text as a review? How would I do that?
